I dont know why people are jumping on Marner so far this game.

Hes made a couple good plays including causing a turnover at the opponent's blueline that should've resulted in a 2v1.

I dont think he's playing timid, he's playing safe and covering defensively. He was the lone man back multiple times already.
Exactly. When you say more about yourself...

Honestly found myself hoping this is the more simplified and effective game he brings to this year's postseason.

Matthews between the Tkachucks is difficult to handle for the Canadian D. Matthews has been making that behind the net wrap around play a staple of his game. He has added little additions to his game over the years, always trying different plays. Gretzky made behind the net his office, but Matthews loves to use it for a driving shield where he can pass or wrap it around. Wayne just moved laterally until he found his man to set-up.

Regardless, Matty got the assist because he had the right players on his line. Brady was playing Knies role there and received the gift.

It's funny how the group of mostly top tier NHLers seem to separate themselves (even some who aren't top tier)

Some guys look like they just can't hang at this pace (Hagel jumps out to me) and other guys look like they're still the top guys

Time to start playing the top two lines more.

It's like he has two Hymans.

Give McDavid some more speed and at least one guy whose good at stealing the puck and turning the puck over along the boards.

Hagel - McDavid - Marchand
Mackinnon line
Stone - Point - Marner
Bennett - Cirelli - Jarvis

Canada has about 6 forwards that have been JAGs this tourney. Probably will need to also figure that shit out. Especially when you leave a guy like Scheifele at home. He's not the best option but Barzal speed would be useful in this game.

All these highlights with star players dogpiling the goalies crease.

No wonder our team hasn't been able to win....complete opposite of what we see in Leaf playoff games.
