Don't f*** with Canada!!!

Marner had a fantastic game. Deservedly moved up with McDavid and then, of course, set-up the winner.

Matthews also had a great game, seemed like his line hemmed us in every time they were on the ice, until, well, you know...

I really hope both can take this experience and we see a new side of them in the playoffs.

As for the tournament... I was a skeptic, but yeah, absolutely fantastic hockey and nothing better at point in time than having our anthem played in victory on American soil. Especially in light of the fascistic rhetoric coming out of the White House.

I thought Binnington was actually a little shaky in goal but, credit where it is due, he made the saves when it mattered most. Harley really impressed me... Dallas is incredibly lucky to have him, Lindell, and Heiskanen. Lastly, just like Sid in 2010, it had to be McDavid. It always had to be McDavid.

I criticized Binnington early on but he won us that game and it's clear some people just step up in the biggest moments.
This is why the coaches and GM's get the big bucks, everyone myself included ripped them all saying "how could you leave this goalie or that goalie off the roster" but in the end he comes thru and wins a huge game on USA home ice.

Bennett, Harley, Mitch all had very good games.
There's a lot that we as fans don't know and the margins are so slim. If not for a bad period or goal against, Sweden or Finland could have played tonight.

Now back to trading everyone!

Beautiful.

Thank you Team Canada.

Proud of Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews.

You both were standouts for your respective teams tonight.

Hopefully Mitch brings that confidence, having played with some of the best players in the world, and finds his next gear in the playoffs.

Hungover and working after hockey for the 18th billion time in my life. Some day I hope to experience the retirement version of this. Seems like a very Canadian story

Created the tournament lol

It's an NHL sanctioned and hosted event and he's the Commissioner.
...but like besides that

Matty was great, whole reason it went to go OT. I've seen some criticism about the OT goal, but it looked like a missed rotation once the D lost positioning. Will get a better look in the AM

I got booted from the main board discussion for putting Mc Jesus's hand over Trumps shoulder. Thought it would be allowed since Trump called team USA and told them to beat the 51st state.

Poor Matthews. Dominant game and multiple chances to win it and then brain cramps in overtime. You have to cut him some slack as the coach was absolutely riding him and he must have been gassed. Tough loss flr our captain but amazing win for Canada. Hopefully all three of our big guys learned something from this tournament
honestly him and slavin were absolute giants tonight. it seemed like every time he was on the ice we were hemmed or he was disrupting us and same with Slavin. but Mitch had himself a game.
