A GDT that is only 7 pages long says it all.

Wins are piling up!
I am guessing the lack of responses here are because of the toxic negative attitude of most of the posters here.....most of the people here are miserable if we win or lose.....funny thing is when I check other Flyer forums whether on X or Facebook, they are far more optimistic and realistic.....for some reason here, we have a problem of group think save for a few decent posters.

It was a good win, shouldn't have been that exciting at the end.

Couts does not look good the past few games, especially defensively, I remember when he'd shut down any chance of a comeback, now he looks a step slow in terms of reaction. They're going to have to move him to LW, maybe as early as next year. I think it's hurting both TK and Farabee playing with him.

The Cates line was their best line, and should have played more. All three are improving as they play together, Cates had a number of scoring chances, including a post

Frost line wasn't as good as the last few games, and the Poehling line was meh, Laughton had the one goal, but the rest of his scoring was SH and empty net.

Zamula-Risto look as good as Andrae-Risto. York-Sanheim weren't their usual self.
Drysdale was OK but not as good as the last two games. Seeler struggled.

Kolosov was lights out, it looks like Ersson/Kolosov from now on, do they waive Fedotov and try to send him to the AHL to work on his game?

I think this team is young, and like a lot of young teams, they're more comfortable trying to come back from behind where there's less pressure than holding on to a lead. It wasn't that they were in a shell the third period, but you could see the panic, they'd try to just throw the puck out of the D-zone instead of calmly passing it to a teammate or an open spot, and get pucks intercepted. That's where experience matters. And when they got the puck to the O-zone, they struggled with the cycle, unlike the 1st two periods when they were a possession monster.

Laughton had a career game, but with luck this will simply up his price, he's not someone they should build around going forward.

what timeline is this that Laughton joins the mighty such as Jiri Dopita with a 4 goal game
And the Ducks have never had a player with a 4 goal game in franchise history. Even while having had Paul Kariya and Teemu Selanne (I think he actually had one in Winnipeg like a month or two before being traded to Anaheim)

Thoughts on the attempted Michigan?

No reason other than there are far better defensive players on the team.

Team wins

I hate this team.

STFU liberal

It's amazing to me to see that some posters are more upset about people complaining about a sucky team, and not being upset by the sucky team. The Flyers are my favorite team too guys, but they currently suck. This game was fun, but they beat another shitty team. If they ripped off 30 wins in a row this year it would be awesome, and I'd still think their chances of going all the way would still be slim.

And before anyone is confused I'm not saying that you can't complain about other posters. I'm just baffled by where the vitriol is pointed at

Realistic is the last thing I think when I think of X and Facebook.

This is correct on many levels..especially Coots.

Man the Wings are bad. How does this turn into a clean, shorthanded 2-on-1 where neither Laughton nor Konecny are ever touched? Kasper totally quit on the back check.

There were a handful of situations where it was a bit baffling as to what Detroit intended or were trying to do. It almost makes me want to watch more of them to see if it's a fluke, but nah, I won't do that on purpose.

Laughton scoring 4 goals underscores the old-time ineptitude of Flyers management. This team is destined to go nowhere, forever perched solidly between tenuous relevance and stupidity. I blame Briere, Jones, Clark, Holmgren and their ilk.

I'd block all you miserable boners if you didn't start the GDTs.

Got a heads up that for Xmas I’ll be receiving some Jets tickets when they play the Michkov’s in a few months.

Laughed, and said if she doesn’t know that I in fact kind of dislike them for quite a few years now.

Bless her naive heart, but she is also indeed a liberal. :sarcasm:

Well this "sucky" team is currently in playoff position and is 6-2-2 in their last 10 games. Despite dealing with a slew of injuries. Oh, and losing their #1 goalie last season to a criminal charge.

They have the leading rookie of the year candidate in Michkov, who is tearing it up right now.

Travis Konecny has 36 points in 30 games and is 13th in the entire NHL in scoring.

And the team's structure and checking are improving by leaps and bounds, except for a few exceptions, which happens with all teams.

All fair. I think they aren’t bottom feeders, have ensured they won’t be - and unfortunately for my draft pick aspirations, the goaltending has stabilized.

What’s the ceiling here though? They seem destined to want to build their core with 12OA picks - along with Michkov.

Doesn’t this give you vibes that the ceiling is actually a little too low?

(Why I can’t get excited, but have at ‘er)

Yzerman as smart as he was in TBL has made some puzzling moves. 36 & 33 year old scoring wingers on a team no where near cup contention are exhibits a & b.

They're surviving off OT. As usual. They play safe and cling to games to get a loser point or hope for a 3v3 win. We know how that ends, and it isn't a reason for optimism.

As ever they are mediocre, and they're mediocre in a way that is a total mirage for postseason success. How is that worth a victory lap before the midway point?

Team has the second lowest regulation wins in the league, they are the definition of playing for and benefitting from the loser point.

A tried and true method for playoff success, surely.

OK, so what? Do you think they are "sucky," as claimed in the post I was replying to?

Do you think they are underperforming?
