You know Edge, I have had two posters argue with me the last two days about Strome and how he is a good hockey player. I continually dropped that image to then. They just kept responding that if DQ keeps playing Strome in the top 6 and on PP1 then that must mean something. Challenging me that I was staking my claim as being smarter than an NHL coach, as if NHL coaches never get things wrong.

Strome is not a good hockey player. The same shortcomings that have crippled him from being a prominent player in this league after his top 5 pick status, are happening today. He is just not a good hockey player. If he is not making stupid, stupid passes, he is taking lazy penalties, or missing defensive assignments.

Strome stinks.

Honestly he looks like he is daydreaming out there. I counted no less than 4 times tonight where the puck came to him and he looked like it was surprise that woke him from a fantasy.

If (big if) Chytil is going to a main piece in a deal for a center (aka PLD) you’d think Gorton will be telling Quinn “hey we need to feed this guy minutes to see what we got here”

As opposed to Ryan Strome who the entire league knows is average on his best day

What Ryan Strome is doing with 21 minutes when Howden and Chytil are starving is beyond me. Literally the opposite of what Quinn's purpose here is. Absolutely haram.

How many said Blackwood was great compared with how many blamed the loss on Quinn? Get real.

One guy claims the coach caused his player to get a concussion and he thinks he's smart.
Get real? How about you start posting anything but garbage takes? K. Thanks.

Quinn is most definitely in over his head. This is the most talented roster NYR has ever had. If he can’t get this team firing on all cylinders by the 10 game mark he should be canned without a doubt.

Before I said that, I said the Rangers were the better team.

Why don't you explain to everyone why you chose to ignore that.

Because I'm still laughing at the stupidity that you think Quinn caused Zibanejad to get a concussion.

I just honestly can’t get past Quinn’s decisions.

Strome remaining on PP1 is ridiculous. Not only is the 4RH 1LH set up self limiting by nature (has has been extensively discussed on here) but his play has absolutely warranted a demotion at least from that PP unit. Buchnevich has looked great so far so not only does adding him as a LH shot make sense but he’s also earned the promotion.

Howden and Lemieux on PP2 over Chytil and Kakko is beyond stupid. You want Lemmy to be your pseudo Kreider? Ok but one of them should be out there over Howden. Not even a debate.

Kakko and Chytil are not getting enough ice time. They should not be playing less than Howden and Lemmy at 5v5 let alone in a game where they are both playing very well.

Trouba’s foot speed and carelessness with the puck continue to be issues in the defensive zone. Martin pairing JJ and Trouba in the third period is not going to help anyone.

Georgiev was hot ass garbage tonight.

Strome is a drain at 5v5. He does absolutely nothing. Tons of giveaways and total lackadaisical effort.

Lafreneire and Gautheir getting benched in the third period but for no apparent reason other than that they’re young? That’s stupid.

As for good things: Fox is a stud. K’Andre looks awesome. However I’m sure DQ is going to sit K’Andre to get Tony back in there. Igor looked good in the third.

I’m just completely fed up with DQ. The Rangers don’t have a style. He talks about playing fast and puck possession and yet we never see that in the actual product on ice. His lineup decisions continue to make no sense. He’s borderline ruining Kakko. I mean Kakko is playing 10 mins a night. How is that helping him? He’s looked good you need to get him out there.

He would have helped.

Even though Fox was literally the embodiment of every ideology's God tonight, he would have been a massive asset in getting things going at ES.
Stop using the Lord’s name in vain bro xD

If you didn’t do that, then I would have clicked “like” on your post. But I can’t. Fox was on another level tonight for sure though. Not human. And that’s an understatement. DeAngelo and Fox are both top 10 offensive d-men in the NHL imo, if not top 5. Having one is great, but having two is always better, especially if you’re taking out someone like Johnson.

Every time I watch a Kreider interview, I can hear “I want to break free” playing inside him ... unleash the Manimal! (ie bye Quinn)

I’m less concerned about the loss than I am how Quinn is handling kakko Chytil and lafreniere.

Laf on right wing? How’s that a good idea? How’s it make sense to put a kid who’s never played a pro game out of position is beyond me. Not to mention he’s a playmaker playing with panarin who always has the puck. They want Laf to be Jesper Fast

Kakko needs mins. He falls asleep without mins. It’s clear as day and he’s a right wall PP guy. Needs that spot

Chytil played 13 mins behind a guy who sucks and played 21. Chytil actually was 53% on faceoffs. Better than strome. This kid needs mins desperately

This is well put and I agree completely.

I'll forgo asking for DQ's head until I see what he does with Strome next game. If he isn't demoted 5v5 and off the 1st PP, i'll be the first to start sharpening my pitchfork.

Not the worst lost. I'll say it again, Fox is an ELITE 1D!

He probably doesn't fall down if he was allowed to rest. Not hard to figure out.

He used six forwards the last ten minutes of the game.

You're slow.

I'll explain it, again.

If a coach stinks, it's not his job to fire himself.

Do you understand how business works?

PP1 doesn't make sense anymore. Four RH shots with Kreider in front. It might've worked last year, but no longer. There's no threat on the right side. Fox is awesome as a puck mover but I don't think opponents respect his shot from back there. It's almost a sure bet that they're going to set up Panarin or Mika at the left circle, and there's nothing to convince the PKers to cheat a little to the right side. It's gotten too predictable.
So true, and NJ was even shading towards Panarin tonight because they knew there was no threat of a one-timer or quick shot from up top or from the right wall. Seems so f***in obvious to put one of Buch/Laf/Kakko in Strome's spot.

Putting a gassed player out there knowing full well he is tired is Busch league. The most common injuries in sports comes from players being exhausted and making mistakes because of exhaustion.

Mika leaned on his league and it gave out because of fatigue.

Did Quinn try to play a concussed Mika on that last sequence or was I seeing things.
