Strome could’ve made up for his foibles when he had a prime scoring chance late (basically an open net) but instead he forces a low percentage pass that of course doesn’t connect. Literally wtf was that?
This is mainly an issue of special teams deployment. At 5v5, this is their respective TOI:
Chytil 32:12
Kakko 31:36
Gauthier 25:31
Lafreniere 36:40
Strome 37:33
Right, most of these problems boil down to the fact that we should run two powerplay units like the other 30 teams are doing. This is mainly an issue of special teams deployment. At 5v5, this is their respective TOI:
Chytil 32:12
Kakko 31:36

Personally I feel we were the better team. The difference was Georgiev was just not sharp tonight. We ended up having to climb back the entire night.
When he’s on, he’s very good. But when that clock strikes midnight...
Trouba was his usual bipolar self. Sometimes that bounces well for us, but when it lets down, it lets down hard.
Today was a very Lemieux like game. You see the things that make you love him, but damn do I wish there was a little more skill there.
I mean do you want a Di Giuseppe-Strome-Kakko line?Time on ice this season:
Chytil: 37:59
Kakko: 36:11
Gauthier: 25:46
Strome: 62:33
Yeah and this seems to be a trend particularly in hockey. How about that?
Yeah but thats still problematic.
They were out there because our 1st line Plus Panarin and Strome player like 5 consecutives minutes before and Zibanejad manage to get probably a concussion by himself. And both Kakko and Miller were out there late. But people complained because Lemieux was out there too. He earned it tonight.
its problematic that the second line center gets more ice time than the third line center? Kakko, Lafreniere, and Gauthier have nothing to do with Strome. I don’t like strome at all but given he was re-singed him playing more than Chytil is obvious
thisSo so much about success for these top prospects is based off confidence. Kakko was flying in that first period. Quinn instead of rewarding him gives him nothing.
Star prospect in lafreniere you BUILD AROUND HIM you don’t move him to a position he doesn’t play because you think he’s the closest guy to Jesper friggen Fast in terms of his grind.
Quinn is tearing the ass out of these kids
lafreniere kakko Chytil Kravtsov Add gauthier too a guy who was dominating the A when he got here can’t do anything now. none of them have looked their best under this coach.
I don’t think there is anything developmental about Quinn’s hockey
It's a very young team. Inconsistency from game to game is going to be the norm as they develop.
No it's problematic that their TOI disparity in all situations is THAT drastic.
This isn't even a Strome on PP1 thing. The 2nd unit should get at least SOME time and it's not like the 1st unit has been unconscious so far.
Didnt see those questions posed. Wish the beat writers had some damn balls and asked them.Did anyone catch the Post Game?
Was quinn asked about sticking with Strome on PP1 and bascially giving the Chytil line no ice time?
No Chytil and Kakko have been looked together year make them the second line and put them with Bread or LafI mean do you want a Di Giuseppe-Strome-Kakko line?![]()
Special teams are a big part of the problem. Buch, Kakko or Lafreniere should be playing over Strome on the 1st PP unit, and Chytil should be playing on the 2nd unit above Howden, Lemieux or even Strome. This is mainly an issue of special teams deployment. At 5v5, this is their respective TOI:
Chytil 32:12
Kakko 31:36
Gauthier 25:31

Edge, do you think LAF should be playing LW instead of right?
You can’t just give people more ice time without taking ice time away from other players. No it's problematic that their TOI disparity in all situations is THAT drastic.
