I think Tony is better for pp1 than fox because of that. Tony can beat you from the point he’s smart enough and as amazing as fox is he slows everything down. Tony is the opposite he plays fast whips the puck around hard to get set as a goalie

You're right. He does move it faster than Fox, who is a little more methodical. ADA is also more mobile back there and will move down from the point at times to collapse the PK box and exert a little more pressure on it.

Rangers dominated the Devils. Georgiev was mediocre and Blackwood wasn't.

Really not much deeper than that.
That’s pretty much it. Lots of good stuff from tonight. (Fox is amazing to watch but players are deferring to him to much). Some players have lost their way (Strome not taking that shot is an example).
Panarin and Zbad shouldn’t be on the ice together.

I do wonder with Trouba how much any potential COVID after effects are having on him

He had it less than a month ago and his speed has been less than ideal thus far

Cal Clutterbuck deciding to shoot high on Varlamov in practice is going to destroy our rebuild by keeping Quinn here on a just below average record picking up wins here and there instead of being totally exposed and going 0-7 to start the season.

We need a new coach fast. Our best chance to win a cup is likely within the next 2 years and we can't afford to waste time with a coach that doesn't inspire any confidence in being able to take us where we need to go.

Quinn throwing the team under the bus. The roster has changed meaningfully since he joined. He’s the common denominator. But no: it’s just the players. Take responsibility.

So true, and NJ was even shading towards Panarin tonight because they knew there was no threat of a one-timer or quick shot from up top or from the right wall. Seems so f***in obvious to put one of Buch/Laf/Kakko in Strome's spot.

The only thing Strome did of consequence on the right side was a backdoor play. They sorely lack the bumper play that I swear I used to see with Mika on the right side one-timing it from a left-handed feed.

This is why people were so hesitant to want to even give Strome 4M as a stop gap. He got 9M for 2 years. This is why so many felt that *even if* he were able to keep up his production when stapled to Panarin, he simply was too deficient of a hockey player and not an answer at 2C. Even with 2C type production, he simply isn’t one. It’s like PA Parenteau. Put up some big production with Tavares but bounced all around the league and wasn’t really a top six player. Had the skill and could put some points on the board but was too flawed.

You're slow.

I'll explain it, again.

If a coach stinks, it's not his job to fire himself.

Do you understand how business works?
So you’re blaming Gorton? Lolololol. Wow and I’m the slow one?

if Quinns garbage coaching continues without signs of him being on the hot seat then yeah sure we’ll all be calling for Gorts to fire him. But Gorton is the reason why we have a disgustingly talented team. He’s going to get a way longer Leash.

Jacque Martin is our interim at some point this season or I delete my account.
I really don’t know. Quinn is Gorton and Drury’s guy. They love him. They seem to have been completely thrilled with him so far going in to this season.

Even with my issues with him, I don’t know if it’s time to pull the plug in Quinn yet. But I have extreme worries that Quinn is going to last longer here than he should and Gorton is going to hesitate pulling the plug on him and it’s going to severely hinder the progress of our young players and the team’s transition into being contenders. A bad or miscast coach can lead to endless rebuilds like Buffalo, Florida or Edmonton no matter how much young talent you accumulate.

Putting a gassed player out there knowing full well he is tired is Busch league. The most common injuries in sports comes from players being exhausted and making mistakes because of exhaustion.

Mika leaned on his league and it gave out because of fatigue.

Again.

If the coach sucks and he stays here, whose fault is that?

You know the answer. I hope.

On the bright side, now we can be all but certain ADA will be back in the lineup next game so we don't have to keep arguing about that...
yeah, but whom is he gonna take out?

I have a bad feeling it’ll be Miller. It should be JJ 100%. If not JJ then Trouba just to send a message. But I’m very concerned it’ll be Miller who, imo, has played well enough.
