What is your favorite memory of 1994 Rangers Cup season?

Regular season...1/30 vs the Kings in LA. Tie it late & won it In OT at 1AM NYC time. Crazy ending that cemented what a tight group they were.

Playoffs...other than winning the cup & the Messier Hat trick, there were so many memorable moments including the Bure penalty shot & the Leetch feed to Kovalev for the game winner.

However, for me personally there was sequence in Game 2 vs Washington...in the second period we scored 2 goals in less than a minute to break a close game wide open & the crowd erupted for 3-4 minutes. That was the loudest I've ever heard MSG...the hairs on my neck were standing up the entire time. It was magical.

It sucks that as fans of this team we have to live 30 years in the past. Sigh.

I was 8 years old. ECF Game 7, double OT, I fell asleep. Missed the goal. My dad woke me up when we won.

The next day, we walked to the store in the morning to get bread and other stuff for breakfast, and he explained to me what happened and how significant it was. My favorite moment.

Wish he was still around to enjoy the game with me.

I'm honestly getting sick and tired of 94. This whole franchise clings to it like it matters anymore. At this point its getting as far back in history as 40 was to 94 where people were born and grew up and lived their entire lives into adulthood without ever seeing a single one of those guys play a game. It's all lore at this point.

How about do what has to be done to win one and multiple Cups and stop being a perennial joke. Every bumble f*** small market club wins Cups like candy and the Rangers can't pull their heads out of their own ass long enough to function like a hockey franchise instead of a Broadway play.

The 1994 New York Rangers = 1986 New York Mets

Both teams cling to that championship for time that is beyond reasonable. I happen to be fans of both teams.

There was a tribute video that I recorded as a youngin...

It started with Offspring 'gotta keep the separated' and the thrashing of the Piles. It was a video montage of the entire Playoff/Cup Run... I have it on VHS somewhere and I'm dying to find it.

Couldn't find it anywhere on YouTube... pretty sure it was a video montage from game 1 of the following season

I lived in Islanders area. Bryan Trottier (who was on Pit at the time) lived down the street and majority of the neighborhood kids I played street hockey with were Isles fans. During the '94 playoffs they would chant 1940 every morning when I would get on the school bus. The silence the morning after getting on the bus was something I will never forget, at 12 that is a core memory that is so vivid.

This. Loved it at the time. But now it's starting to be like your chronically single alcoholic friend with no teeth who keeps blathering on about the Earth is flat and how he was wheeling broads in college.

Don't ask me how I know...

As much as I liked Leetch, Kovy, Richter, etc the 1994 team was not my favorite team. My favorite teams were in the 1978-1984 era. I also loved our 2014-2015 teams.

The 91-92 team was more fun to watch than any other Rangers team I've seen. They could win 2-1 or 8-6, & you never knew which one you were going to get on any given night. That comeback against Washington in December '91 was so epic.

Sometimes winning the cup isn't everything. I enjoyed the 2000 and 2002 Giants more than a Superbowl winner.

With that said, I never got over that 91-92 team losing in the second round. As much as I enjoyed that season, the way it ended really sucked. It still bugs me thinking about that Ron Francis goal from center ice. That was the Cup right there. It felt like he took it out of our hands when Pitt was basically dead & buried.
