This would be a tough win for the rebuild, but thankfully, they're not rebuilding. That's why Ristolainen and Staal were out there in the final minute. Need that veteran jam.

I do not mind Cates... or any other young player... bitching about Trots was getting ridiculous ... Last time they blocked shots like that was during Hitch time imo... and PK during that time was not that good.

I like our big derpy defense, and accept that the Flyers will never win the cup in my lifetime. That makes these games easier to enjoy

I switched to Ersson starting for my keeper league team from Varly. That usually doesn’t work for me.

I do not mind Cates... or any other young player... bitching about Trots was getting ridiculous ... Last time they blocked shots like that was during Hitch time imo... and PK during that time was not that good.

What I hated was Torts doing things that in no way you can say is good for the young players developing.

This would include benching Frost multiple games, benching Brink, playing Staal over Z. I can't defend any of those moves at all. There is a difference between tough love and you get benched a period/sent to 4th line and being a complete a hole. It really is not illegal to play 2 smaller forwards in the same lineup. It took an injury to Cates to have this happen.

And when Cates is healthy I would have him at 4lw to start 44 to the rafters and that is a pretty doggone deep team. Not buying the beach chair for the parade yet but its a whole lot better than I expected.

And despite the things I dislike about Torts, I also have to admit. There is no way under Hak or AV if they were down Sanheim they could have coached a shutout.

It’s a shame Michkov isn’t over this year. I wish we could somehow combine the team now with the team in 3 years. A Cutter with a couple seasons under his belt and a 21 year old Michkov plus whatever other prospects make it would add some oomph to this team that is having a surprising year

Believe it or not the last time the Flyers shut out the wings 1-0 wasnt in the 90s, but actually back in 2016. The exciting rookie years of TK and Provorov Flyers won in OT GWG from Brayden Schenn. Anthony Stolarz got his 1st shut out in his 2nd start.
