To be honest though the way the discussion has gone in the hockey forum with all the uneducated drones there parroting what they heard off Fox News it's probably best that the threads be locked or moderated heavily. There are a lot of trolls over there who do nothing but stir trouble.

We're all supposed to be adults here but can't even hold a political conversation without one guy bringing up "CHINA JOE BIDEN" or shit like that

The mods were right to ban all political talk because many people here do not even have the capability to discuss anything remotely political without sniping and name calling. Banning political talk just makes it easier for everyone.

That's because hf's discipline system is a joke.

If you post something that's against the rules, your post will disappear without a trace and you will have no way of knowing why or how to avoid breaking the same rule in the future.

Or a thread will be closed and the most communication that will happen is a mod saying "you know what you were supposed to do".

Try something like "Your post was removed for X reason, and you have received 1 warning. If you accumulate Y warnings, you will be unable to post for Z days. Please use <this link> if you require further clarification about the rule you have broken."

I also have a tech forum that is industry related that I occasionally go to. It is international, but 4 years ago some “new” members joined, and now even the technical forum has become a right and left battle ground. Sad, the insults, ignorance on both sides and most people on that forum have at least a technical diploma outside of high school. I even know a educated engineer who is a flat earther. Good grief!

enough of my rant, I usually just leave the room when this stuff gets brought up. Back to packing....
