Can’t imagine Quinn knowing his players. Trouba with his 0 goals this year and stone hands over a kid that’s flying all over the ice today.
Didn’t say I agreed with the logic. That’s just the only one I could imagine. I remember the Panthers used to put Matthieu Biron on the PP because he had a booming shot — that never hit the net.

Boston looks like shit and the Rangers are taking advantage of them and haven’t played like shit in return. Just have to keep pushing, because I expect Boston to change things up next period. Really like to have this win.

Also, someone needs to still punch Bitchie. I’m looking at you, Lemmy.

Great period.

Great to have Panarin back. Creates a lot of space. Is it just me or does Chytil play the game at a different speed than any one else on the ice? He has that McDavid I'm going to back you up speed. He doesn't have the McDavid vision or hands. But it's still super impressive.

Kakko looked good. The only thing I want from him is better vision when he gets the puck in the offensive zone. He holds it for a bit too long and he's letting the opposition get set instead of surprising them. His pass to Laf was great.

Rooney looked great. Miller ditto. Lindgren good. Kinkaid made a few important saves for the team. Kreider and Buch looked good too.

Smith-Hajek is too much of an adventure. Smith runs around far too much to be playing with a kid whose confidence is shaky.

Laf played a little slow in that period. It's not skating, its just overall not sharp enough, engaged enough.

Zibby is in the right places quite often. He is having a positive impact, but he still doesn't look well to me.

Our offensive gameplan, even-strength or on the PP, is the same.

Keep it on the perimeter. Have 1 guy at the net, preferably. Don't attempt to find or move to open space.

Don't even think about creating high% shooting lanes with proper positioning/puck movement.

It's all the knock-on effect of having Strome stapled to PP1. Let Strome ride the pine for 2 minutes, have Buch on PP1 and get Chytil on PP2. Solved.
I agree with that. I was just trying to figure out what DQ was thinking. I don’t agree with the rationale. Strome should be on PP2 and Buch or KK (depending on whether you want to go all-in or spread the wealth) on the PP1 RW.

Rooney is 10 times the player Howden is. It would be a joke for Howden to ever go in again for anyone that’s in there right now.

imagine he’s never been a healthy scratch? Never? LOL

Translation: CK in front of the net. Panarin will connect on insane passes or wire shots. Hope for the best.

How many back door goals did Fox and Tony D score last year? We don't see that anymore.

Gionnone is a WW2 soup kitchen Hooverville reporter kind of journalist. Too OG for TV.

When I was a boy my dad and a group from our church would head up to Boston to catch an Rangers/Bruins afternoon game each year. We had to wake up before dawn for the long drive. We got tickets right behind the net and then would go get eggplant parm for an early dinner afterwards. Great memories!

I want this win today more than usual. LGR!

Hope RC gets a full-time position with the organization. Love the loyalty we show to our ex players. Can only imagine Hank will be a coach or Sweden / Scandinavia scout in the future, though he could also be excellent in a marketing role, given his recognition.

That’s an awesome memory. People criticized me before the season started that I said the Bruins and Rangers are kinda a rivalry. I think even with these crappy divisions it has renewed a lot of that Boston and NY Rivalry. Playing a team 8 times will do that, and I’ve felt more of that rivalry. I dunno I see the Bruins and get heated, almost up there with the Islanders and Devils.
