I'm sure his gameplans *should* work fine. I find it hard to believe the plan is to skate around at 2/3 speed, never support the puck carrier, and take wide, easily defended angles. This is a roster failure, and a player failure that I as a fan am seeing those things for periods on end.
Exactly! He’s our best player right now, and with a fully healthy lineup, he’s 2nd or 3rd after Panarin and maybe Fox. Zibanejad unfortunately seems to be dragging him down. And yet...he leads our team in points and is an amazing penalty killer. And like you said, the players who are supposed to replace him have proven NOTHING, no matter how much I like and believe in them.
I’ve watched maybe 10 games this whole season. I’m not going to waste my time and resources on this shit franchise if they continue to put their heads in the sand and pretend everything is ok when it clearly isn’t.

We still have zero prospects that we have drafted and developed that have really broken out. I can't even say Chytil he has to do it for a longer stretch.

On a Cup-contending team, he’s still a 1st liner imo. Just not the driver of that line. More complementary. But he can absolutely drive a 2nd line on a great team.
One time sure, it happens. But TWO, and not to mention every other young forward this team has had the last 3 years having some major setback something just isnt adding up. As the wise philosopher George W once said "fool me once shame on you fool me can't get fooled again"
