Guys, I just don't see how there's a future for all of our prospects with the Wings.

I'm all 100% certain that Wings won't have a defense with mostly rookies and u25 defensemen.

Wallinder,Buium and ASP are all like within a year or two years from making the club. Are there really enough spots for them?

Should be, Petry is done the end of this season, Gus, Holl and Chiarot the end of next season, so lots of spots if SY is brave enough to fill them with the kids (I am pretty sure he will if they are good enough).

So if we assume Al-J, Mo and Ed are fixtures, then there is room for a combination of 4 more kids if that is what the wings want to do...if they keep Ed and Al-Jo together, I am not sure if any of the LHD (Wally and Bruium) will be ready/capable of playing with Mo, and there are 2 RHD in ASP and Tuo.

So to me, in the long term, they will try Al-Jo with Mo and ASP with Ed for the top 4, but more likely they will trade for or sign a LHD to play next to Mo.

The real dude I am waiting for is Brady Cleveland

Erik Karlsson hasn't seen NHL playoffs for the last 6 season. I think he is part of the problem on his teams.

From last 6 seasons he is -91 at NHL.

Think he has fallen to those Gostisbehere-level guys, who should earn 3M. If some teams could double-retent his salary to those levels, then maybe.

When I first read this I was going to comment: this is a little harsh -- to Gostisbehere.

Then I looked up Ghosty-bear's stats and yikes, that plus/minus -- yep, this comparison is apt. I should have known not to question you, Henkka, you tend to be right about just about everything.

It's always possible, but i kind of doubt that we'll see such a defense.

In a more realisitc scenario, only one of ASP, Buium and Wallinder actually become NHL defenders and there's never a problem.

I suppose that's an argument for keeping all 3 since you don't know for sure wo will make it. Another way to look it is that you may aswell use them as trade bait before they fail. A combination with lack of space, as i see it atleast, and the high likelyhood that they don't become NHL defenders, make me more inclined to deal a guy like Wallinder for help on defense today.

Petry is done at the end of the season. Technically, he is done now. Chiarot, Holl, and Gustavsson are gone after next season. That leaves us with Seider, Edvinsson, and Johansson. That's three open spots right there assuming we don't sign or trade for anyone between now and the 26-27 season. That's also assuming they make it to the NHL.

Why do I keep seeing on these trade deadline shows ppl mentioning Frederic to the redwings lol

Last thing we need is another bottom 6 guy. He'd have to be signed first when we make the deal and we'd have to get rid of guys + danielson coming next season

Compher copp Rasmussen veleno soderblom tarasenko all signed for next season , motte Fischer + Frederic if he was to come

Add danielson mazur buchelnikov possibly in the mix next season. Makes no sense

Wont happen but If compher or veleno goes the other way and he signs ... "maybe" ... even then

Buch isn't even certain to come due to khl deal ...um provorov will stay in Columbus cause of his brother, not sure on gavrikov's demands ... maybe

Chychrun will want 9-10 , hard pass when we have edvinsson coming up and pellika might get big money during those 3 contracts

I don't know the cost and wont happen cause we're in the same division but I like carlo as a pick up. 2 years left 4.5

Because he would be an upgrade over most of our bottom 6ers. Especially Veleno/Fischer/Motte. Hes a better fit than Tarasenko.

he'd be a rental + motte and fischer don't matter cause they're Ufa's at the end of the year

We have so much guys already locked up for next season on the bottom 6 we'd have to move guys now or we'll be stuck in another Walman scenario where we have to pay someone to take someone on

Pretty sure his brother isn't going to play college hockey until 2027 and is currently playing in New Jersey. Also Columbus is a 3 hour drive from Detroit.

What is it with you guys and Luke Schenn? I would be very concerned about that dude breaking down down the stretch. Dude has played a lot of games with a style of play that is very taxing on your body.

I would be down to trade for Brayden if he didn't have 3 years left on his contract after this year.

Paying that much for Faulk to play on the 3rd pair makes no sense. I am either trading for a cheap 3rd pairing guy (preferably not old with a ton of miles on him), or a guy to replace Chiarot on the top pair.

I mean I'm not a big fan, but he would be an upgrade over Holl. Cheap is the big thing for me, a reason I'm out on Brayden Schenn because of the supposed big cost to acquire.

Frederic fits into the age group of the wings, plays with more edge than anyone (especially forwards) on the team, can play center and while having a down year this year the last 2 and a bit seasons he has 43 goals. Motte, Veleno and Fischer have pretty much combined for that while not playing a physical game at all.

You can get rid of guys like Veleno or Motte etc pretty easily. Frederic is a different, much more valuable player.

I'm not in love with Schenn but give me him in the playoff running guys over and killing penalties while keeping Holl out of the line up.

He's 1000 games into his career, he's never broken down like that yet. For the right price, I like him wayyyyy more than Holl come playoff time
