Sway having a down year no big deal. Hes still solid.

He CAN be solid. I think the problem with Swayman is his past body of work isn't big enough to be sure of anything yet. When a 32-year-old goalie with 7 or 8 really solid years behind him has a down year, you can reasonably expect that he'll bounce back. The track record is there. But Sway has only played 3 full seasons, all of them before this one as a complimentary 1B or a high 2A, so to speak. He's shown he can play at a very high level for stretches, including playoffs. But it's a different thing to be 'the guy' and look to start in 60 games and against all the top teams, year in year out. That's much harder. That's why many were against giving him a big money long-term deal already, of at least were unsure about it.

Personally I believe he'll sort things out, step up and prove he really is elite. We also simply have to hope he does because there are no easy alternatives. But it's not guaranteed.

Trade Coyle (1 year to UFA) and hopefully Zacha (2 years to UFA) and any of the other UFA including Marchand Wotherspoon Brazeau.

Give up Zacha , because he will be a FA at the end of the 27 season. Makes no sense, he has 2 years left on a great contract

Obviously anyone is available in the right deal, but trading Zacha because he will be a FA in 2 years is insane. You simply couldn't replace him for the price. And what are you going to get? A first round draft pick who might drack the lineup in 2028 if things go really well

Retain for next season:

Pastrnak
Geekie
E. Lindholm
Zacha
McAvoy
H. Lindholm
Zadarov

Retain or see what they bring through trades:

Frederic
Coyle
Kastelic
Poitras
Marchand
Beecher
Koepke
Wahlstrom
Carlo
Peeke
Lohrei
Wotherspoon
Callahan
Oesterle
Swayman
Korpisalo
Honestly when you laid it out like this, it's no wonder this team is not performing well. The retain or see what they bring with the exception of one ore two players is pretty terrible!
