Coyle is winning faceoffs and has 4 goals. He could hit 15-20 goals. Is there a lot of 30+ year old 20 goal players making less than $5? I haven’t checked to be honest. But I feel like his contract really isn’t bad at all. It’s pretty fair. It’s a bargain if he can somehow pull 50 points out of his hat this year. He started horribly slow but has started playing better.
I doubt he scores 50 points. He has one lousy assist all season. He’s just simply awful.

not a chance. I’d never move a top four rd for a disinterested 34 year old with 2 years left at 6.5. He has zero assists.

That’s a crazy payment for Trouba and kreider.

Carlo is a lot better than Trouba. And I’m a big fan of Trouba. I love how he crushes people. Trouba is over paid.

Kreider would be worth more if he was younger of only had one year on his contract.

Fredric has way more value than you’re proposing.

Coyle is needed. Unless we are out of the playoffs. Who will play centre if they move him for kreider?
I agree with you except Frederic, unless you are basing his value on last season ,because this season he is an empty uniform to date.

We’re going nowhere. Team is majorly screwed. Most here don’t want to admit it
Just trying to get into playoffs at moment.I would have preferred a tank for a couple seasons to get some high end talent for the future, but here we are.Go Bruins.

We haven't played anyone of significance since the coaching change. I don't believe for a moment that Sweeney would let this team deliberately tank. Now, if we have a rash of injuries that may derail his plans. Also, if we get blown out tonight or on 12/10, or worse by someone else between now and then or a combination, that could trigger some major change(s) to the roster. And we may or may not like the change. We all know the team needs at least one more scoring threat in the top six and at the moment it doesn't look like it's coming from within the organization.

I hate ARMCHAIR GM is gone. My go to for silly trades. Like this one...

OUT
Frederic - 2.3M
Lohrei - 1M
26 - 2ND
25 - 3RD

IN
Kreider - 2M retained = 4.5M

So silly

Easiest thing for Sweeney to do is call up Poitras and/or Lysell to inject some speed and offense into the top 6. Huge X to Sweeney and Montgomery for not giving these two players extended looks during training camp and the season. Even if they fail, they would at least then know what they may need to trade for. It's easier to give these two young players a shot than it is to trade for a magician that can distribute the puck to guys skating in quicksand or a pure goalscorer.

I think you retain as much as possible on Coyle to get a 1st round pick...I look at the Predators who have 3 and need a center. If you can flip it with Geekie for Zegras then I'd go with this.

Zacha Zegras Pastrnak
Marchand Lindholm Lysell
Frederic Poitras Brazeau

Agreed. It’s practically negligence to not play your young offensive players at this point.

We look good in many areas now, its time to put the puck in the net.

Its still too early, but if we get closer to the deadline and things don't improve, I'd quietly ask around and see what we could get for Marchand. He'd be a great addition for a cup contender looking to win now.
I'd rather it be one of the guys who plays like they don't care such as Coyle.

Marchand trade makes Pasternak captain.
