Eeking out a handful more OT wins than they deserve, gaining enough points to hover just above bottom seems familiar somehow.
Flyers xGF 59.06%, HDCF 57.80%Proof he don't watch the games, we got steam rolled yesterday by a lesser team and Vegas was missing 2 of their best players.
It took them 17 minutes to record their second shot on goal in the third period....Flyers xGF 59.06%, HDCF 57.80%
However, CF 35.85%
That's not exactly "steam rolled."

Bro this team is last in the league in regulation wins. You really thought this team was going to tank?
They're actually able to skate with almost any team now, and they've upped their skill.
The biggest problem they have is maintaining puck possession, too many turnovers in the D-zone, have trouble controlling play in the O-zone and don't take the puck away enough.
But they went toe to toe with Vegas, the biggest team in the NHL, and with Nashville, the most physical team (Trotz is the GM, you'd expect anything different?).
The problem for the Flyers is they used to be small and slow, now they're just small.
TK had his worst game of the season b/c he was bounced around on a regular basis, Brink was MIA.
Even Poehling struggled along the boards.
Frost scored again, checks notes, hmm 2 feet from the net. Gee, maybe he's learning something?
Some good things, Michkov is looking more comfortable 5x5, Frost is skating better (I think the 5 games off helped a lot, there was something wrong with him physically), Andrae continues to play well, Risto is now in beast mode.
Glad that my eyes match the data. Not sure how good this data is (NST), but giveaways per 60:

Hathaway 2.63

I looked at 2023-24, and the numbers are far lower, doubt the team changed that drastically, so there may be a difference in how this number is determined this season.
Agreed. I am a tank advocate, but there are ways to do it without a scorched earth purge. It starts with dealing vets with no future on a competitive team for draft assets. You still end up picking early, but you can live with that - and fans can too. They are doing, instead, an accidental tank, where they pretend they are competitive for a playoff spot now, but end up picking 12 instead of 4 or 5. It's just friggin' stupid to continue the mediocrity. This is how I feel. I'm always happy when they win but would love the high end talent that comes with top 5 picks. My biggest gripe is them not recognizing when they should sell on players who are past their prime and not give the type of contracts to players they overvalue. I don't think they are headed in the right direction in that regards.

Citation needed, that is not what they almost traded Sanheim for. They almost traded Sanheim for #25/#29
Part of the problem is the management's timing in dealing some of these guys.I think posters believe somehow we can get value for players that we are ready to let loose. You need to trade value or picks to get value. We're a little short on our own.
He definitely should, Mrs. Tuomaala.Tuomaala should get a couple of games with Michkov this year.
No one was giving any 1st for Laughton. That was just BS from a fantasy. Ristos contract would cost us in a trade, more fantasy. Any other trades at this time won't get us any prizes. If there was a deal with what we have won't change us much.Part of the problem is the management's timing in dealing some of these guys.
Apparently St Louis wanted Laughton a couple years ago for some good picks (rumoured 2 1sts), now he's not worth much. Risto is the reverse. He was hot garbage a couple years ago and now he's playing well enough (tepid compost?) that someone desperate for a big RD might give us a 1st for for him. Hathaway has value as a playoff addition for a team needing what he brings. Johnson might get a 6th, didn't we just give a 5th? Poehling is big and skates well, shows occasional glimpses, but it's hard to see him as a future cornerstone - that's Cates' title. Better to get SOME value from them vs. just letting them walk.
I'd entertain trading Farabee too, or Tippett, obviously but his contract is terrible.
