Great news that we are going to get some of these kids playing at the level they should be instead of just throwing them into the fire like we have done.

Kids have done just fine and has surely benefited from NHL play time imo. Would like to see them in the line up soon again!

Sabres go for third straight at home as Blues visit

Season series: This is the first of two meetings between the St. Louis Blues and Buffalo Sabres. In their most recent matchup, on Jan. 21, 2012, David Backes scored a pair of goals and set up two others as the Blues recorded a 4-2 victory at Scottrade Center.

Big story: While the Blues' goal is to compete for a Stanley Cup this season, the Sabres are trying to build a perennial contender. It's a process that figures to take time, but there's renewed vigor in Buffalo with the returns of Pat LaFontaine and Ted Nolan to the organization. Nolan's first weekend back as coach resulted in the split of a home-and-home with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

"He's an exciting personality," assistant coach Teppo Numminen told The Buffalo News. "We've got good, positive energy around, so it's been a good couple days."

Nolan - "We're not that bad." Love Teddy trying to keep their spirits up.

Also, sounds like they're going to weed out the kids so they're not "force feeding" them into a situation they're not able to handle. Good.

The best result - Sabres win 5-0

Halak should start tonight since he got pulled early last night, and hopefully he gets lit up on 19 shots, while Miller earns a 38 save SO and convinces St.L that they need him.

Ok that won't happen, but maybe Miller can hold them in it and only lose by one, and still convince St.L that they need him.

Honestly, why is Pominville anymore deserving of a tribute than Roy?

Because roy was a whipping boy and pomminville was a fan favorite. :dunno:

Looking forward to watching this one. It should be good fun. The past few games have certainly been more entertaining (despite the one loss). I hope this is a trend that continues. I'll start to worry again, if the team slips into complacency under Nolan after a few more games.

I am guessing a 4-2 loss, tomorrow.
