[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

We had a good game, obviously it wasn’t good enough.
We can’t afford to give up goals on our power play and we’ve got to be better at finishing.
- Rick Nash

Tonight we had so many good chances, and then they got a couple of breaks in the second.
We're doing so many good things right now, but just coming up short.
- Henrik Lundqvist

We’re doing a lot of the right things, but one thing we have to start doing is make the opposition start paying for their mistakes.
Boston made a lot of mistakes tonight, turned the puck over. We’ve got to start capitalizing on that.
I believe we have the skill set and the talent to do it. We’ve got to keep working on those aspects.
- Alain Vigneault

Thanks Loffen, great game threads.

We gotta get a win here. Pretty sick first line for Dallas.

Lehtonen is better than most people give him credit for. Need to get pressure early and often and hopefully squeak a few past him.

Hopefully we leave Del Zotto at the arena and bring Chiasson with us.

Del Zotto got the Zucc-treatment, lets hope he responds in the same positive way.

Dallas comes off a 3-0-0 road trip, won six of the last seven games...ugh!

This will be a tough one....the Rangers have scored 2 goals in the last 3 games, time to start burying all these chances !!

Hoping for a win to right the ship, but also looking forward to watching Seguin, Benn, Nichushkin and Chiasson. That's a really big and skilled forward group Dallas is putting together.

Why cant the Rangers find these players?? most teams have at least 2 or 3 players like this.. Bruins, Sharks, Ducks, Stars, Kings all big physical teams.

Dallas' top 6 is young and potent. Very exciting to watch.

Would rather watch my team get a win though.

LGR

Gives me the warm-n-fuzzies seeing Nash, Callahan, and Hagelin all in the lineup. Praying the team that played in Boston shows up again tonight and we'll have a chance. Only issue I can see is keeping up the intensity against an out-of-town team, and on the road. I feel (hope) Kreider will take care of that department though. LGR!

It took me a solid 5 minutes to figure out how that gif worked. :x True art.

Dallas has been rebuilding for a while, stocking on picks/prospects.
  • Benn was a great find in the 5th round, but every team gets one of those once a decade.
  • Chiasson was a 2nd round pick that panned out due to great scouting.
  • Nichuskhin was a #12 pick that fell due to the Russian factor.
  • Seguin was a deal Dallas was able to make because they had stocked up on prospects and picks for so long. They were able to sell part of the farm in Morrow (acquired in a sell deal to Pitts), Smith (drafted/scouted), and Fraser (scouted) along with Eriksson.

The Rangers haven't been in a position where they're stocking up on assets to develop like that in a while. Also the West generally places more emphasis on size, so drafting goes that way too.

The Rangers will win tonight. I said it in the Boston PGT, the Rangers lost close games to two of the better teams in the league in the last two. They lose 1-0 to a Kings team that had a goal come off of a deflection off of stralman. The Rangers were also playing on back-to-back nights. I thought the Rangers had dominated play at times in the Kings game. They were able to hang in there with the size of the Kings and the Bruins imo. They lose 2-1 to Boston and absolutely outplayed them as well. Bad breaks. I thought all 3 quotes in the GDT above show that this team is on the cusp. They have the talent in the top 6. Kreider will start scoring. Nash will get more comfortable with more games. Rangers will win tonight and go on a nice little winning streak. I think they take the next 4. Yes I'm calling it now. They beat Dallas, Nashville, Tampa, and Florida.

Dallas is a five on five team so if we can turn this into a chippy game, we should.

1.14 for/against Dallas in five on five, to only .74 for the Rangers

Their PP+PK% only totals 93.5 percent, however where the Rangers total 102.6%

Dallas has played well lately. However, in the last 3 they played Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton. Not exactly world beaters. Yes they beat Boston and Detroit this month, but that was two weeks ago. They beat an Ottawa team that is just lost right now.

Let's see how a solid defense, solid goaltender do against Dallas' offense.
