Was just listening to Pounder saying that the team had too much of the same type of player. That Catton was creating - finding pockets of space - but there wasn’t enough of that on the team.
They needed more skill.

We would’ve been hard pressed to compete with the Americans with even our best non-NHL talent, thinking we had a snowballs chance in hell with what we iced deserves nothing less than this result. All of Hockey Canada management should be fired

I don't put much stock into WJC. I remember one year our prospects dominated the tourney. This board was a buzz. Poehling was going to be a star, Primeau had outstanding tourny. Ylonen was going to be a good one. Romanov was a steal. The only one who lived up to anything close to expectations was Romanov.
Another year the draft thread they all wanted to draft Zadina after the WJC. He ended up being a bust

The first half of the game, no one on the team except George and Howe actually gave a f*** IMO. It felt like I was watching local hockey at the rink, bad passes, not catching passes, terrible penalties and Cameron was the worst coach I've seen in yearsssss. Like show some f***ing emotion for God's sake. After the McKenna hit, even if there was no call blast the refs, show you have the kids backs..
Suzuki was not a standout at his WJC, aside from the magical pass to Morgan Frost. This short tournament bring players that very often have little previous experience playing together. It's just not a great predictor of how professional careers will unfold.

They led in shots, but so many of the shots were crap outside shots. They weren't trying to get good inside shots.
Also, they finished 74% on the PK, which is complete crap.

I don’t know if Hage, Misa and Sennecke on the club means a semi-final berth, but geez, I was stunned at the lack of architecture.
McKenna tried, but he just turned 17 and didn’t seem to be playing with guys who, all together, could play crafty and in control.
This isn’t the first TC where the other clubs worked the puck better to get great/scary looks from the slot.
Canada always seems to look for bang-bang goals.
We have players who can pull the trigger but the lack of familiarity and some missing architects were an obstacle.
Pressure built and doubt took root and we didn’t have a single line that could be tapped to stop it.
