Sheesh... just came back home and it's only 1-0 into the third... Are they trying for a perfect play or just not trying hard enough?

Ultimately, Colorado didn't take Edstrom, although Edstrom & Wahlberg were definitely players I wanted at those picks.

Colorado took Mikhail Gulyayev (LD), a small-ish speedster on D then traded the 2nd to TB for Colton, who is 4 years older, makes $2m more & puts up comparable numbers to Newhook. He is better defensively, though.

TB took Gauthier, who doesn't look like he'll be an NHLer.

Frankly, I think it's a wash. I would have liked to have kept the picks and pick Edstrom & Wahlberg, but at the time I thought it was a decent risk to take.
Sorry but that is a tough statement. Gauthier is an incredible player who sacrifices alot of offense in the name of being an excellent 200 foot player. Already plays a pro game in junior. Not a coincidence that about half of the Voltigeurs team has greatly increased their production being around him. He will be a great top 6 complimentary player in the NHL.

A game that means nothing. We often saw Canada take it easy against those teams and looking much better against tougher teams....but....and to be honest in has nothing to do with the lack of Habs prospects...that Canada team is just meh. There's just no great interesting players aside from McKenna. And if Schaefer miss more games..here goes your most interesting back end.

Also...it's time to have Russia back.
