The first thing we need to keep in mind is that they need to actually field a team. You can’t have too many or too few suit up. Therefore some people just have to play even if they are in. I think it’s a pretty good sign if you played the first game and are scratched the second. However, if you are scratched the first and play the second it just might mean there weren’t enough spots open to get everyone two games.

Is the only guy playing neither game Molendyk? Did I miss anyone else?
Agreed. Hence why the guys who only played one game to fill out the roster are likely the frontrunners and the guys who suited up for both are those on the bubble. I don't think its a coincidence the one game guys aligned with TSN reporting of roster favourites. We will find out soon enough.

Soon enough indeed. Once the game is over, it must be an agonizing wait for the players to find out if they made it or not. I can’t imagine what it must feel like. Some of these guys have never been cut from a team in their entire life.

Everyone scratched today is a lock?!
Well, we’re presuming that’s a safe bet.

Cowan and Nadeau, but obviously those are extenuating circumstances.

To Kyle's point above, the scratches line up with what McKenzie and the TSN guys are thinking.

I couldn't find the game anywhere online yesterday
Yeah, I couldn’t find it for free either. I ponied up nine bucks for a month of TSN+ that I need to make sure I cancel before it renews next month. There were also single game videos of this directly through a different platform (the U-Sports people?) and they’re charging TWENTY bucks for it! I would expect to get arena admission at that price! Geez.

For what it's worth, I also ponied up the cash and immediately cancelled it, I'm good for a month.

Only caught the second period thus far, but Ratzlaff doing his best to crawl back onto the team.

Is Sennecke hurt? Haven't noticed him once.

Edit: Nevermind, he's out there now.

Parekh and Sennecke have made a few lackadaisical plays today. I'm not sure they've done enough to force HCs hand.

I'd still take Sennecke based on yesterday's game, even if he's just a 13th forward or something, a big skilled guy like him is a good option.

I'm not sure Parekh really had a chance (which makes sense given he was an injury replacement), he played like 8 shifts this game, mostly with the collection of spare parts on PP2.

Schaefer has forced their hand IMO, they would be crazy not to take him. He and Bonk were far and away Canada's best defensemen today.

Feel bad for Cristall, he's had chances and yet divine intervention keeps the puck outta the net.

My guess is the last three forward spots go to Gauthier, Wood, Rehkopf.
Agree on Rehkopf and Wood. I just don't see how they cut Beaudoin. He's a HC favourite and he played his role really well in these two games IMO.

Schaeffer and Bonk as your shutdown pair, while also throwing in some offence sounds just want Canada needs. Kid has proven and earned top minutes to start this tournament!

Agreed, some tough decisions to be made. Not everything has to do with what is on the scoreboard or scoresheet. Some of these guys were brought in to fill certain roles. Goals and assists mean very little to a few of them.

Who is almost sure to get cut? Like who do you think showed poorly?

I am going to go out on a limb and say Ivankovic ( based on age ) as all goalies showed well on day two, I doubt Ratz's blunders day one send him home but he still may be the third.

Akey and Parekh are for sure cuts. as far as the forwards go they all proved they can fill their role so going to be whoever Cameron feels comfortable with at this point.
