The problem w cap is we don't really have the assets to clear bad contracts. You have to pay to move dumba. You have to pay to get salary retained. Nill won't mortgage every single pick and hit the franchise in 2-4 years down the road.
The lax media environment around Dallas is great but it also means that our prospects have less pedigree and hype, lower perceived value.
Also idk why everyone is clutching borque. He is good but exactly the type of piece you move for a good roster player. When I mean good I mean under 30 good contract w/e. There aren't really any standouts available anyway imo.
Edit: the only ones worth it that there are rumors of are cozens and byram in Buffalo lol

If Pagnotta is hearing something, which I doubt he is, it's coming from other teams for sure. Nill doesn't let much leak from the Stars front office, as we all know.
So he's getting his info from other teams.

With the stars having basically no trade assets other than Bourque or stankoven wich we know nill is not gonna trade and shouldn’t , not knowing seguin and Miros timeline with LTIR , i highly doubt we’re gonna see anymore trades other than a depth dman . Injury’s happen to every team . We have had really good luck compared to a lot of teams the past few years . Can’t wreck the future because of it .

I don’t really look at trading for Jones as a wreck the future type move. He is young enough and I think still a good enough player that solidifies the defense. If they do it without trading Bischel then their defense is liked in except one spot for the next 5 years. And depending on how much is retained I could be talked into trading Bischel for Jones. The concussions kinda scare me. Not necessarily that he has had them but that it could change the way he plays.
If we can't get the big boys Suter would be a nice consolation prize. Thoughts & feelings?
