Some observations after watching both games:
Misa:
I think he had an ok 1st game and an underwhelming 2nd one, I thought he had too many individual efforts that led to nothing and got manhandled physically a couple of times, I dont know if thats attributed to the fact he played wing vs the center position, but he hadnt the same impact as he had down the middle with Saginaw in my viewings.
Schaefer:
The most impactful player on the ice in both games, had some mistakes here and there, but he generates so much offense through transition and overall skills level that its easy to pass on.
Martone:
Showed flashes of greatness in the offensive zone, drove the play and could have had multi-points games, he was a stand out and solidified a top 3 selection IMO. That mix of size, talent and hard work will be hard to pass on comes draft day.
Desnoyers:
Didnt drive the play much, but was a 2-way force out there and displayed above average hockey IQ, skills and awarenesses. Not sure if he has top line talent, probably not, but at worst a solid 2nd line center who can play in every situations.
Lakovic:
This kid has alot of upside IMO, just a great mix of size/reach, skating and soft hands. Has all the tools to become a puck possession beast, a player that will cycle the puck down low and drain the defenders alot of energy through games. He isnt Slaf good, but still pretty good and promising IMO.
Carbonneau:
A pretty attractive package of size and pure skills, this kid can stickhandle that rubber like few can, very skilled and creative. His game lacks a bit of structure at time and a bit of consistency, but maybe it improved lately as I mostly watched him earlier this season. He has been red hot on the scoresheet recently and had 2 very good showings at the prospects challenge.
I mostly focussed on the fowards so cant really comment on the Ds outside of #48 who was rather easy to notice on the ice obviously.
Lakovic and Carbonneau would be my prime targets with the Calgary pick. I like Desnoyers outside of the top 3.
