According to Stanley 25, the Canadian (Nick Bobrov, Martin Lapointe and Serge Boisvert) went observed the young Caleb Desnoyers several times since the start of the season, especially in Quebec.Stanley25: le CH épie de près un jeune joueur de centre québécois
Truth hurts , time heals allNo shit. That's not the point. My point was that a shit league can be misleading. It is a shit league. Take off the obvious fleur-de-lys glasses and put down the blue and white pompoms for a minute and look up its graduates of the last 10 years. Hockey Quebec as a whole is in a truly dark era and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel with how good the US program is becoming.
I wish it was better, but it's not. I'm far from the only one saying this. It's pretty much a concensus now, and people like you cheerleading it no matter what, doesn't help. If you can't be critical of the things you like, you end-up being simply a fanboy.
I like the two C's , Schaefer looks incredible thoughI want Schaefer, I don’t care about anyone else right now
Tall, mobile, gritty with a good shot and playmaking, but doesn't have highlight reel stickhandling. He might never be a superstar, but it's easy to project a top 6 center here.According to QMJHL data Desnoyer is 6'2''. His stats on Face Off =63.4% which is very good. Yesterday, during the CHL vs USA game, he was playing center between Misa and Martone which seems to suggest that he is in his place as a center. The Habs really need top 6 center and only Hage seems qualified as a prospect for the 2nd center position.View attachment 936468
Caleb Desnoyers is the next best thing out of Quebec. Much needed successful players from the Q in this league. If we want good Quebecois, we need to draft them. This kid, not only he's Quebecois, he's a gamer and has all the tools to be a top 2C for us. I don't care, his upside is better than Suzuki's hahaha
You guys saw his physical play behind the net when he hit the American kid? And yesterday, he finished his check on Trethewey and then got pushed to the ice and when Trethewey was skating away, Caleb pulled his jersey back and start roughing him up. Love seeing that
I don't know about Desnoyers.
If a player's ceiling is a 2C and they don't quite hit then you have a 3C... That's not particularly enticing.
From 5 to 10 I don't see much difference. From Spence, McQueen, Frondell, Ryabkin, Eklund to Hensler. It depends more on team needs. That's the nature of the draft class. If you're not picking top 4, you're looking at players who are more 2nd liners that you hope pop for more. Not gonna be anyone that's a surefire first liner after that group.
