We are in a pretty good spot with Schaefer Misa Hagens Martone right now
I want Schaefer more than any other player in this draft. We are in a pretty good spot with Schaefer Misa Hagens Martone right now
I think Schaefer is making a strong case for 1OA and I would be happy if he ended up the Hawks pick. I would be happy with any of Schaefer, Misa, Martone, or Hagens (in that order). If you take Schaefer, you then can look to move a couple of Korchinski, Kaiser, Allen, EDM, or maybe even Vlassic (although it would need to be a blockbuster return for me to move Vlassic).I want Schaefer more than any other player in this draft.

I did say blockbuster and this is only on the assumptionm we draft Schaefer (and we are confident Korchinski is developing well). I am talking a deal for someone like Hischier, Tage Thompson, or Anton Lundell (give or take a bit to even out value)....top of the lineup 20 something C with some size and decent value with term contract. And yes obviously Vlasic is the last piece you include in such a deal and only reluctantly. No chance in hell they move Vlasic. That's insane. What are you going to do, move Vlasic in the hopes that one of Del Mastro/Allan/whoever develops into Vlasic? You've got a 23-year-old top-pairing D signed through his prime. You don't move that.

Honestly that wouldn’t be the worst idea either. Draft the best, figure the rest out laterSchaefer seems to be creating distance between himself and everybody else in this draft . He's looking more and more like a lock for #1 . Would Davidson be tempted to give up the #1 for a boatload of picks and prospects ? Perhaps considering what the Blackhawks have already coming in on D . Let's say the Sharks offered Dickenson ,William Smith and 2 / 2nd rders .
Yea that's why you always go BPA when drafting that high and dont draft for need anticipating that future drafts will be stronger in certain areas. Around draft time this year we were told 2025 was supposed to be the year for forwards and yet the BPA is trending to be a dmanIf we seriously go D yet again in the first round im really gonna hate the Lev pick
That's what they were doing. You’re always in your feels about him to be fairHFHawks go more than like a day without calling Levshunov a bust challenge.. difficulty impossible
Nah, just weird people would be like "this makes Levshunov pick even worse" and not like "future stacked top pair". I guess it's easier to dwell on worst potential outcomes given the state of Chicago sports right now. You’re always in your feels about him to be fair
I wasnt in love with him at 2 last year.. I follow their point though. I like Schaefer this year at 1 if it comes to that and it would suck to spend the other #2 and #1 pick of your rebuild on D when you have other good defense in the pipeline and zero help at forward.Nah, just weird people would be like "this makes Levshunov pick even worse" and not like "future stacked top pair". Schaefer and Lev aren't too likely to play same side.I wasnt in love with him at 2 last year.. I follow their point though. Doesn’t mean Levshunov is a bust.
I had him right there then I really liked his CHL VS USNTDP games and has only shown even more post that series in Erie.Schaefer and Lev aren't too likely to play same side.
Also not sure where Schaefer running away as first pick comes from. He's in the mix but not particularly more likely than Hagens or Martone right now.
It's a really good top 4 and then looks like a pretty quick dropoff, Hawks finishing bottom two will be beneficial in the longrun.I had him right there then I really liked his CHL VS USNTDP games and has only shown even more post that series in Erie.
I don’t think it’s a run away. Long way to go.
Hawks need a forward in the worst way. Options are a bit more open if they went forward last year. They should still pick Schaefer if they think he’s that good but I hope it’s a centerIt's a really good top 4 and then looks like a pretty quick dropoff, Hawks finishing bottom two will be beneficial in the longrun.
