Re: Misa and Chernyshov - are there any current examples of junior linemates playing together and succeeding in the NHL together?
A better question is how often have two high profile juniors linemates who were both good players actually played in the NHL together? Usually "old juniors linemates!!" tends to be one good player and one journeyman that fans create a narrative around.

I guess Mackinnon and Drouin works to some degree. But really, juniors "chemistry" tends to just be that players have complementary skillsets and are just better than most juniors players. I heard a lot of noise about Team Canada not exploiting the "Rehkopf-Martone chemistry" at the WJC this year, but frankly I don't think they play very complementary games. They just score together on a line together because they're good players beating up on juniors. I think Chernyshov and Misa have genuine chemistry because their games are highly complementary and they're both too good for juniors, but that doesn't mean anything for future NHL success and Chernyshov's success with Misa wouldn't be a factor for me at all if I was making a decision between Misa and anyone else.

Am I reading correctly that everyone's assessment of Misa's ceiling is not even on par with Marleau? That's not exactly the best pick for the worst team in the league. If we're going to endure being the worst team, at least get a game-changer. Unlike most Sharks fans, I was never impressed with Marleau's career and Misa isn't as good?

There are far worse things than getting a borderline hall of famer in your lineup for 15 consistent years.

Sounds like a you problem, not a Misa problem.

yea, essentially i'm asking a backwards quetion of "how can we be sure Misa/Chernyshov combo would have any NHL success together", because im seeing people using this chemistry as a reason why we should draft Misa and personally i can't believe that's a strong reason. But im also not pretending to be a prospect person lol.

Thanks!
