Anyone with NHL Network or workarounds, the CHL-USNTDP showcase for draft eligible has game 1 today at 4pm PST. Doubt it'll be wildly competitive (the USNTDP U18's are very bad this year) but it'll be a great first look at a lot of top draft eligible for folks who don't have access or time to see prospects in their league play.

Misa, Martone, and Schaefer will be playing for the CHL, along with some interesting guys like Spence, Bear, Desnoyers, Fiddler, Lakovic, J. Smith, and Schmidt. On the NTDP side, I think Jack Murtagh is the standout for me so far, a BU-bound shooting winger who could be interesting at 33rd overall. Moore and Trethewey started the year with first round grades but haven't done enough to maintain them. LJ Mooney is supposed to be back, so the highly-skilled short king battle between him and Schmidt will be fun.

I am having a argument with some of tik tok saying the outcome would of been reversed if this happened the year that smith and leonard and perrault were on the team.
Sounds like a You problem. :sarcasm:

I don't think it would have been reversed, per se, but it would have been close. The '05 NTDPs were pretty star-studded with Smith/Leonard/Perreault/Moore plus a bunch of really solid role guys and the CHL top dogs were like, Bedard, Benson, and Danielson. I think it would have been a reasonably fun matchup.

it's pretty much Schaefer and then everyone else for me.
He's been my number 1 for a few weeks, but I hadn't quite seen enough of him to suggest a thread title change. Now I have. What rhymes with Schaefer?

I still have Hagens pretty comfortably 2nd, then Misa and Martone.

As a reminder, I created a Tank for Celebrini thread last year, and @Juxtaposer renamed the title before the lottery and we won it :). Since I'm superstitious, let's keep the same process. Whenever Jux wants to rename this thread, it's her choice. Keeping my fingers crossed the lottery luck is with us. It'll be trickier this year since it looks like we may not finish last or even bottom 3.

Really good draft prospect talk for those interested. It's looking like a really "bad" draft in terms of not a lot of talent outside of the top 10 so later picks in the first round and beyond might not hold as much value compared to previous draft, still very early but that's the general consensus on this years draft crop.

Just started listening, but the comparison to 2019 is wild. That draft was basically just Hughes, Seider, Zegras, Boldy, Caufield, Harley, and Vlasic that even look like top half of the lineup players.

Sharks UFA's after this season: Granlund, Kunin, Sturm, Rutta, Ceci. I say deal them all for high picks in the next 2-3 years drafts, and/or prospects, and/or strategic player targets.

Almost forgot the goalies, UFA's Blackwood and Vanicek
How many high picks you think we can get for Kunin, Sturm, and Rutta?
