@Fixed to Ruin PMd

Overager out of the OHL, you know the Oilers wouldn't be able to resist if he's there. I like the abrasive setup man.

I've read bith sides about him. He interviewed poorly, which is why he fell last season. He's also Misa's teammate, which might hurt his draft stock. But I liked what I saw from him this year.
It's such a weird draft. I feel like 5 years from now there's going to be some big regrets in the top 45 and some massive home runs past the 4 the round.

With the 84th overall pick the Pittsburgh Penguins select LHD - Owen Conrad.
DSC01978-scaled.jpg

  • Team: Charlottetown Islanders (QMJHL)
  • Height/Weight: 6'2", 209 lbs
  • Shoots: Left
  • Playing Style: Conrad is a mobile, two-way defenseman with a strong defensive foundation. He plays a structured, intelligent game, using his size effectively to disrupt plays.
  • Offensive Ability: While primarily a defensive defenseman, Conrad has shown offensive upside, posting 29 points in 59 games in his rookie season. His ability to patrol the blue line and distribute the puck makes him a valuable asset in transition.
  • Defensive Strengths: Conrad is strong in transition defense, rarely overcommitting on odd-man rushes. His ability to read plays and react quickly allows him to slow down opposing attacks and support his goaltender effectively.
  • Skating & Transition: His skating mechanics are solid, but his acceleration and first step could improve. He has good edgework and pivoting ability, which helps him maintain positioning in both offensive and defensive situations.
  • Areas for Improvement: Needs to increase his physical assertiveness, as he doesn’t consistently use his size to dominate physically. His first-step explosiveness could also improve to enhance his mobility.
With the 85th overall pick the Pittsburgh Penguins select C - Mason Moe.
MoeMason-1024x915.jpg

  • Team: Madison Capitols (USHL) / Committed to University of Minnesota
  • Height/Weight: 6'1", 186 lbs
  • Shoots: Left
  • Playing Style: Moe is a smart, versatile center with strong offensive instincts and positional awareness. He thrives in all three zones, using his balance and puck protection to control possession.
  • Offensive Ability: He consistently generates high-quality scoring chances, averaging 1.89 Grade "A" chances per game. His ability to finish in a variety of ways, from net-front rebounds to clean releases off the rush, makes him a dangerous offensive presence.
  • Defensive Strengths: Moe is effective through the neutral zone, using smart routes and well-timed support to recover loose pucks. His hockey sense and processing speed allow him to anticipate plays and disrupt opposing attacks.
  • Skating & Transition: He adjusts his skating angles to create separation, making him tough to defend on the rush. His ability to protect the puck and create time in the offensive zone is highly projectable.
  • Areas for Improvement: Moe needs to refine his faceoff proficiency, as his win percentage is below the USHL average. He also needs to increase his physical engagement, as his 50/50 puck battle success rate could be improved.
