So in April/May you'll see Bayern, City, Madrid etc play eachother in the CL knock-outs, and then a month after that they will do it all over again at the CWC?
Because you know clubs from other continents will be out after the round robin.

We'll see. The giants could end up playing heavily rotated squads so their stars can go on vacation, while the smaller teams could take this super seriously.

If this essentially fills the gap of summer tournaments for big teams, fine, whatever. But acting like this trophy means anything is pretty silly.

We're going to see academy sides.

Then and there
De Bruyne's Belgium home ransacked while he is away at the CWC, jewellery taken. I still wonder why these guys don't hire security while they are away. Or at least store their valuables at a bank safe deposit box while nobody is using them.

Stupid idea but most of these clubs were coming to the US anyway with reserve squads, they'll do the same here unless there's some astronomical prize money

"Players and clubs won't participate in that tournament," Ancelotti said. "One single Real Madrid game is worth €20 million, and FIFA want to give us that amount for the entire competition. Negative.

"Just like us, other clubs will refuse the invitation."

That's fundamentally not "we're negotiating for a higher price" but rather a very clear "we're not going" Nothing was misinterpreted, he just spoke when he wasn't supposed to and got smacked down for it internally.

Then and there
Transfer rules exceptions for the participating clubs next summer:

"Fifa member associations of participating clubs will have the option of opening an "exceptional registration window" for new signings from 1 to 10 June.

Competing clubs will also be able to replace players during a "a restricted in-competition period" from 27 June to 3 July.

Fifa said this was in order to "encourage clubs and players whose contracts are expiring to find an appropriate solution to facilitate the players' participation".

I have hit my wall with this. Strike action is not something I usually support but I think this is the straw and the players have to act. The greed is beyond, and the players cannot possibly maintain this pace.

If Forge somehow makes it out of CONCACAF, I will tune it. Other than that, I'm out...

We don't need this.
