HF Habs: 2025 NHL Draft: Part II

Not sure how they could give Utah anything for 4OA as they're in the same spot as us.

I would think of a package of something around:
  • Caufield
  • Habs 1st round pick #16 or 17th
  • one of the Habs 2nd round pick or Logan Mailloux/Owen Beck

Can't think of anything else on the Habs that could fill a need for Utah...
Slafkovsky, Hutson, Suzuki, Reinbacher and Demidov are the untouchables for me.

Which the Habs are not in a position to offer.

And the Habs aren't doing that, so there's really no fit.

So Reschny is taller than Hagens. Just asking some other posters that are so adamant about size, If Hagens was available at our pick we should also pass on him, right?

The only way we trade Caufield for the 4th pick is if we gave a side deal for Robertson (and i don’t know What we can offer them except future and if it’s What they want, they should go for the 4th pick)

He has IQ and vision. IQ..THE MOST important thing in Hockey

Don't worry I heard the same thing about a dude like Sakic in 1987....and rhe Nordiques were upset when Boston drafted the big bumb Stephane Quintal at 14th..

Then they went with their plan B...a dude named Joe Sakic at ...5.10 1/2 and 185 pounds...wowww what a small guy he was......lollll
Montreal wanted Quintal for years and acquired him when they got the chance. Not a bad player but weirdly overrated by GMs.

Hagens is a phenomenal skater and he’s also more talented. It’s not a comparison.

And no one is adamant about size. The argument is that Bobrov wouldn’t pick Reschny based on his history of 1st round picks.

Yep it is the case with bobrov but it is a discussion forum and we can discuss about our own pick and at 16th..personally my choice would be Reschny for many reasons.

Hagens is not a phenomenal skater and Reschny is not a bad skater either.

Bobrov might not pick Reschny but like they did with Michkov or Cooley. It might not be a good decision. Their best pick was a midget and I don't think any Habs fans are mad about it.

What? Hagens is a great skater and Reschny is average at best.

Reschny isn’t Michkov or Cooley. There’s a reason he’s going 15-30.

Just tell me you have not watched Reschny if you truly believe what you wrote? Reschny average at best? He is a better skater than Suzuki was in his draft year, was Suzuki a bad skater and a bad pick too?

Better skater than Suzuki in his draft year doesn’t mean much. EP, who tend to love players like Reschny, have his skating a 4.5 out of 9. Hagens a 7.0

I also didn’t say he’s a bad pick. Stop conflating what I’m saying.

Why isn’t he going Top 10 in a weaker draft if he’s for sure another Suzuki?
