HF Habs: 2025 NHL Draft: Part II

I usually hate the idea of drafting a D @1 unless it’s Pronger or Dougthy. But I feel the 3-4 top forwards have way too many unanswered questions. A forward is more of a need for the Isles but I think Darche will have no other choice but to go with Schafer. Plus he’s a late 2007, so he has tons of runway to develop.

Schaefer has high odds of becoming a franchise dman, Misa will most likely finish at the wing IMO. Unless the Isles are certain that Misa ends up as a center and becomes a top forward, they'd be crazy to pass up on Schaefer

To me this feels like a Stamkos (with slightly less pure goal scoring) vs Doughty situation

Which are just very general attributes that can be linked to so many different players but you chose the black defenceman
Subban was more explosive on the ice for sure, but Zonnon has that aggressiveness, a two-way acumen, and brute force. If he can improve his skating, he could be a great top 9. He's more of a passer, but he also has a big snap shot ... so yeah, I do compare him to Subban because I see a probable surprise in him in the second round of the draft.

Oh, and Zonnon himself talks about Subban being his model

I'd go full Johnny Tightlips on that question

A #1 D usually has more value than #1 center.

I for one hope they keep both picks or find a way to move up, the rebuild is far from over.
100% agree. I'd say it's the last rebuild draft but with seven top 100 picks we have a pretty decent draft power and we should use it to fill the prospects pool and after that we should move on from rebuilding.
