Lohrei stays on the 3rd pair until he learns how to play defense. The same goes for his contract extension, 1 year for 3rd pair money.Geekie-Lindholm-Pasta

Zacha or Geekie?
I guess here’s a serious question:
Geekie’s contract has been predicted to be around $6.5M/yr (4 years). How do folks feel about that number?
And while we’re at it, Lohrei at $5.5M (6 years). How does that look?
Assuming the contracts are somewhere in this realm, are we happy with that - or do Geekie and Lohrei become Sweeney’s Lucic and Hamilton in his second major team retool?
I’d have Lohrei as the #7 or in Providence until he learns to play defense.Lohrei stays on the 3rd pair until he learns how to play defense. The same goes for his contract extension, 1 year for 3rd pair money.
As much as I hated Sway's season and dislike what he pulled, congratulations to him. That is quite a feather in his cap.Good for you Sway, good for you
2025 will bring good things

Hate to say it but now do playoff statsZacha has averages 55 + points per season for 3 years playing multiple positions but developing into a solid C
Sam Bennett & Anton Lundell in a combined 12 seasons have not hit 55 points once
I have no problem with a healthy Elias & Zacha one-two punch the problem is the Bruins are short at least one legit top 6 RW
Not even close. Watch him play. Now watch Carlo highlights. Peake every timeHe has stone hands and is average at everything else, agreed. They can do better on the third pair.
He is a late bloomer. Getting better with age. One of those playersAs for Peeke I like him on third pair as a PK and shot blocker - he’s much more structured from his CBJ days. Leach did a nice job with him - went to a few of the Warrior practices and they were working on things around front of net
Bower and Sawchuck, who is credited with beating a Hawk team that was superior on paper.I root for Buffalo teams, as I root for Buffalo.
I love Canada, with my Canadian roots, and I would love for Toronto to win a Cup. Which, if anyone is paying attention, they have failed to do, in uniquely, fantastically miserable fashion, since 1967.
(Bonus points: Who was the goaltending tandem that season?
(Hint: both are considered among the greatest NHL goaltenders of all time.)
I feel bad for the mythical even keel Leafs fan. I'm sure they exist.
Otherwise, they deserve their misery. As does Leafs media.
Who feed on it like flies on shit.
Orders of magnitude worse than poor Buffalo.
Bennet 7x10 and Marchand 3 x7. Yes, no?? Bennet 7x10 and Marner 7x14 ? Get rid of Middlestat.
Coach as wellWe’ll have a full draft class and FA signings by then.
13 points in 13 games isn’t so bad.I think Marner would be a huge mistake and overpriced. It is pretty clear he cannot play off hockey. He is just not built for that.
Marchand but he’s been confirmed not coming backBruins need character, compete, leadership and skill. What free agents check those boxes?
I do not think investing in Marner is the way the Bruins should go.Just an aside on Marner: I don't think Marner is a plug and play guy. There are teams where I think he would fit well, like Colorado, maybe Buffalo, maybe Detroit. There are other teams with less forward talent or a different style where I think he would be a disaster. That includes here. The Kings are another team where i don't think he would be a great fit, and they have cap space and seem to have interest from what I read here.
Don, he won't crack 80 with the group he has here and he has other shortcomings.Marner will solve a lot of our p.p issues and scoring this is a no brainer sign the man and give him a blank cheque. 102 points last year what else you want?
I totally agree. I think a player for picks trade would be very helpful here. We have the cap and the picks. I do not have anyone specific in mind because Barzal requires a center back in trade, I think.I do not think investing in Marner is the way the Bruins should go.
I feel the same way about Bennet.
Marchand yes if term is no longer than 2 years.
The Bruins are not a FA signing from being a Stanley cup contender.
I just feel signing a few players who are lesser names who are on teams that may not have the cash to keep them is a better way to go RFA's . For this off season. Morgan Geekie signings.
Mason MacTavish would be an wonderful pick up. I suspect the cost would be quite high.I totally agree. I think a player for picks trade would be very helpful here. We have the cap and the picks. I do not have anyone specific in mind because Barzal requires a center back in trade, I think.
I know at least one person here is willing to overpay for Mason MacTavish. He would be the type I might target at a reasonable price of picks.
If that’s the Bruins plan, they’ll be in contention for McKennaI do not think investing in Marner is the way the Bruins should go.

I like both Barrons. Between next year's free agent class, and the 15 or 16 players they need to upgrade on this roster, Sweeney needs to find all the shrewd bargains he can. Trading RFAs is certainly a reasonable idea,Mason MacTavish would be an wonderful pick up. I suspect the cost would be quite high.
I am also talking about smaller deals ; example Beecher for Morgan Barron . Not saying the Jets would make this deal . But as a person who fallows Barron I think it would be a great move for the Bruins. Both are RFA's and neither is going to be a star .
The Bruins need to improve in many areas before a big splash will make them true contenders
