That’s the only reason he be a top 3 highest paid player.

Let’s say you get Ehlers and another LW, be it oloffsson, Marchment, Cuylle etc. you can then flex Geekie to back to RW 2nd line in a pinch too. I like that. Prefer Geekie with Pasta, but options are better than constraints.

Ehlers can and has often played his off-wing, I like his versatility.

If the Bruins could add Petterson without any major subtractions, and sign Ehlers, I think that would be a tremendous off-season.

What about Brent Burns if he plays another season? Could help the power play, maybe mentor Lorhei a bit. Could be cheap depth on the blueline.

I really don’t understand where you’re going with this I’m not pounding the table saying we gotta have him but because he’s only got to or over 30 goals twice doesn’t mean he isn’t a goal scorer too he’s just extremely better at setting people up. Without going into a deep dive he’d probably be 3rd on the Bruins roster in goals scored dating back a few years and 1st in assists.

So I guess we can agree to disagree on whatever this back and forth is cause you’re not gonna change my mind that Marner isn’t a talented player that can’t offer the Bruins skills to make this team better. The playoffs crap everyone likes to dump on him only isn’t fair maybe shouldn’t say everyone but I think most people know what I mean by that.

honestly this is the most excited I have been for a Bruins team that missed the playoffs

Loved what Sweeney did at the deadline, argument could be made it was his strongest/smartest deadline in his 10 years, could also argue it should have happened last year but..

We all get to watch the B`s make an actual 1st round top 10 pick, my gut tells me Sweeney and Co will get this one right and I love that they have 2 second rounders as they have, for whatever reason, found loads of gold in that round

Lots of cap space and I`m not sure there won`t be more to come as I think Sweeney will move Zacha or Mittelstadt, 8 picks in the draft this year, I think they`ll make one strong push for Marner but I can see them adding guy`s like Dante Fabbro or in that tier of NHL players, one`s you won`t have to break the bank for

They're not tanking. They've said they're not tanking. This franchise is not in the business of tanking. Additionally, us as fans shouldn't suggest they tank, because it's been made abundantly clear by many of the other teams in the league that tanking straight up doesn't work and can do irreparable damage to your franchise for 10+ years.

Honestly I care very little who wins the Cup (Okay maybe a little).
One of my fave times of the year is the NHL draft to 4th of July.
Plenty of NHL transactions etc really heat up the summer and get me
jazzed for the next season.
Last OS I thought that the Bruins would be a mean machine with
all of the free agent signings. I got my "knuckle draggers."
I said "Panthers better watch out. Smash mouth Bruins hockey is
back!Then, the season started and the Panthers made a mockery of
the New Look Bruins.
Maybe if Monty's apathy wasn't driving the boat!?!
Anyway:
WOW, WTF was I drinking/thinking? Never again!

I think Marner would be a huge mistake and overpriced. It is pretty clear he cannot play off hockey. He is just not built for that.

His trade was just to salvage some assets for him and also an easy way out of outcry from the hardcore fans after he is signed somewhere else in the summer.
There is no way Marchand is coming back to his former team as a depth guy with no letter after he had C.

If the new front office of the Leafs were any smart they would sign Marchand to a 2-3y deal instead of wasting cap space on Marner. Marchand in the playoffs shows up while Marner disappears.

There seems to be a feeling that Marchand to Toronto is very possible this off season. Marchand himself said in a presser he was a leafs fan when he was young. Vets seem to like finishing out there careers there.

I didn’t realize he can go right side if needed. That changes a lot for me. I was already leaning him over Boeser and Marner, but now more so. Marner just screams Utah to me after hearing his interest in tax free states.

I like this as a stop gap if you can’t land Fabbro or Lindgren. Doubt we get Gavrikov. Helps add necessary vet presence. Curious what the money looks like though.
