He has been fantastic in Hartford the last couple months. And Brodz, Edstrom, and even Rempe being able to come up and play minutes at the NHL then they have every reason to believe in their current development down there with him. I fully expect that they expect Othmann to be a regular next year and they need the contributing ELC.I think Othmann is the sticking point in a lot of these trades. Do the Rangers think he is a regular by next training camp? Im not so sure. He's raw. If he is over a year away from becoming a regular, Drury may want to cash in now. Kakko we know at least is an NHL contributor. Perrault is breaking freshman scoring records and might bet here at the same time as Otter. Berard is real close. Im not saying give him away by any means but I think his inclusion can make or break a deal for an impact player.
Othmann would only go in a deal for a player the Rangers would have here for 4+ years that is a truly great player. I see no reason why the Rangers wouldn't value Othmann the same way that they did Kreider when the Nash negotiations took place.
