  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. If he is over a year away from becoming a regular, Drury may want to cash in now. Kakko we know at least is an NHL contributor. Im not saying give him away by any means but I think his inclusion can make or break a deal for an impact player.

He has been fantastic in Hartford the last couple months. And Brodz, Edstrom, and even Rempe being able to come up and play minutes at the NHL then they have every reason to believe in their current development down there with him. I fully expect that they expect Othmann to be a regular next year and they need the contributing ELC.

Othmann would only go in a deal for a player the Rangers would have here for 4+ years that is a truly great player. I see no reason why the Rangers wouldn't value Othmann the same way that they did Kreider when the Nash negotiations took place.

I think it was one where I had hit "quote" a month ago, but then thought better of responding. I do it all the time, and I had no idea that HF holds on to them in perpetuity. I had ~8 quoted posts I had to go through and delete from my post yesterday that had nothing to do with the Mittelstadt/Schneider idea, haha. I must have missed that yours was an "old" one because it was on the same topic.

As for my statement on Trouba, I would say that those who assume that he will be moved (and to be clear, I WANT him to be moved) are the ones blindly speculating/projecting. The team heavily promotes him, they haven't shut up about how he's also an artist now, etc etc. There's more smoke for my projection than there is for those who assume that Trouba will be moved to create space for Schneider (who also hasn't yet shown that he can step into that role).

Panarin line, Fox and Shesty are good enough to cover a lot of warts, in the regular season.

Kreider doesn't stink but he's sure playing like a stinky butthole lately, Zib is rubbing off on him.

The rest all do stink (except Sam how dare you)

The NYR 2020 draft could be one of their best when it's all said and done. Especially if they give Berard a chance. Lafreniere/Schneider/Cuylle/Garand/Berard/Rempe. Yes I know a first overall in there but still.

Ok, I'll ask because I'm Jennifer Coolidge stupid (ok, she's not stupid, she just plays stupid really really well). Why couldn't Ottawa just let Tara play out and walk? They got a trio of picks that are not even this summer, one of them is conditional, and they still have to pay half the man's salary.

I dunno, everyone in the Hartford thread seems to say that Othman is doing alright but he's a perimeter player who relies on his shot from the slot and still glides around too much. He doesn't score a lot at 5v5

Right now Kakko is 100% more valuable than him and if Kakko wasn't traded for Henrique/Vatrano it's going to take a real good deal to move him right now

It's always a successful draft if you come out of it with 2 NHL regulars.

6 would be a smash and a nice parting gift from the old guard.

Probably because Vlad wouldve been grumbling in the locker room being stuck in Ottawa for the spring while his family lounges in the sun in West Palm beach. easier to just move him.

Leaks can come from more than one source. I'm sure everyone is asking for Perreault from the Rangers and they have been told no. Vince talks to other reporters around the league, especially those of teams where the Rangers have expressed interest in their players.

Not a comment directed at you, but many seem to think Vince (and other reporters) just sit around on Twitter and aggregate stuff. The better ones are at practice, they speak to staff, they speak to other team's writers, other teams' staff when they are in town for a game/practice, etc. to get info.

That's what I see at least over the last 5-6 weeks. Guys like @GAGLine and @Clark Kellogg would know even better since they have been watching from day 1. It's not that he is afraid to get into the dirty area but he seems to be content in waiting to get fed the puck to use his shot. And he doesn't have the best quickness like a Berard in order to retrieve the puck or beat defenders with his speed.

Fair enough if you think that much of Othmann. Just comparing getting him vs Guentzel for pretty much the same price.
 
Drury playing 4D chess leaking that Othmann is not totally untouchable to drive up the price on the Canes, and signal to Ottawa, Buffalo and STL that he is willing to deal him in the right move (a top 6 F/top 4 D with term).

Im manifesting it before he trades 2 seconds for Vatrano and disappoints all of us.
