That is a crazy package, makes me think the Rangers never put Othmann on the table in the first place.

Seems like 3 guys all around a mid 2nd round pick each in terms of value, plus a conditional first and roster player.

If they don't make it to the cup finals it's a 2nd round pick and no 5th round pick. So Drury paid more for Wennberg then Pitts paid for Guentzel minus the quantity of mediocre prospects and player.......ugh

Stop making shit up. That is absolutely not true. Pitt gets Bunting plus Carolina's #6, #7, and #8 prospects plus the conditional 1st and then they have to try to sign Guentzel to a 9 million per year contract. That would be like us giving up Cuylle plus Jones/Garand/Edstrom plus the pick.

We have plenty of comparable mid level prospects and certainly could have matched the draft choice but Bunting tipped the scales. I am surprised that Dubas couldn’t coax any of the Canes top three prospects out of Waddell.

Dubas wanted Bunting because he’s not trying to tear it down. And then it’s quantity which everyone whining about the return would’ve cried if we matched with our equivalent quantity. Kakko+Berard+Fortesque?+ the picks maybe even another prospect maybe Othmann too. It’s too rich.

Surprised they didn't move Scott Morrow as Carolina is without an AHL team, he returned to NCAA and is 1 year closer to potentially being lost as a UFA.
