key take away
What about Mikael Wikstrand? Any chance he ends his 10-year hold out and comes over to provide some depth on D?Is Jan Platil suiting up? Got big hopes for him.
Halliday is this year's man amongst boys candidate.
Boucher is next.
I also predict that Toure is going to have another steady showing.
Would be nice if Toure has developed into a AHL/NHL player.Halliday is this year's man amongst boys candidate.

Already ranked 10th among U23s world wide by a prominent scout with the Athletic .. With that ranking he'd be the #1D in Ottawa and would already be the Calder favorite and shouldn't waste his time at the rookie tournament. Can't see why he wouldn't.
Sens d at the rookie tournament could be very physical and nasty to play against. Early speculation but it likely includes Tyler Kleven, Carter Yakemchuk, Matthew Andonovski, Djibril Toure, Jorian Donovan, and , based on the most recent rumor, Gabriel Eliasson.

If he goes the CHL route he loses his college eligibility. That's a bold move for a guy who is viewed as a long term project. Seems like he is really betting on himself. Niagara Ice Dogs have his rights, fyi.Credible rumor that Gabriel Elliason will be going the CHL route and attending the rookie tournament.
You really hate the pick eh. Ignoring development for big skill players completely.Already ranked 10th among U23s world wide by a prominent scout with the Athletic .. He's a second rounder. Don't think a swedes first priority is school. But I actually would prefer if he was going to college for his development route for a big player. If he goes the CHL route he loses his college eligibility. It'll be interesting to see if Filip Nordberg is on the roster. Haven't heard any news about where he might be playing this season.
Definitely a worrying trendI wonder if/when Ruutu starts getting some heat for his record. They haven't given him a ton of high swings, but he's been head scout in Europe since 2018-19 and we're still waiting on him to hit on a single pick in that role.
Look at his work in the first three rounds over those years - Nordberg is trending poorly, Hamara is trending poorly, Johannson is trending poorly and Jarventie is out of the organization. Then there's Pettersson, who has a chance but he looks more like organization depth, and Merilainen who has a chance, but who knows with goalies.
sure bert. You really hate the pick eh. Ignoring development for big skill players completely.
