These series have largely sucked since MLB went to them. 7 ending in 2 but to me this year they are all more competitive on paper. I'd be surprised if Severino/Manea both lost, albeit Manea got blown up by Milwaukee a few days ago. I think it goes 3.

Brewers went 5-1 vs Mets this season and 6-1 last season (rosters were obviously vastly different). This has been a mismatch.

But I think the Mets have more talent and far more experience. Being able to not use Severino today was a big plus. Mets in 3.

Peralta trying to surprise the Mets...he threw FBs on the corner on 2 strikes to everyone vs going slider. Probably figuring they'd be expecting that since their RHBs are so slider vulnerable

Severino's slider is just not working early. He finally through a good one there to get the K

iirc there was some murmurs that Winker wasn't exactly a good presence in the Brewers clubhouse last season

Peralta basically went walkabout for 1 inning and has otherwise looked elite.

I really question some of the moves so far in this game by Murphy. Peralta had looked solid this last 2 innings and he yanks him

Mets are gonna try go Butto 3 then Ottavino/Stanek or Garrett/Stanek but this is Butto's first real exposure to the show

The stupid intentional unintentional walk to Lindor, the oddball walk to Alonso who is still vulnerable 2-0 righty/righty and then the failure to cover 1B led to that mess

Great opening series win to start this series. Really hoping Manaea can bounce back tomorrow after he got roughed up in his last start (also in Milwaukee). Winning tomorrow and getting an extra day of rest would be huge for a team as exhausted as the Mets.

Mets probably want to end this tonight. Would not want to face Myers tomorrow if I was them. He made them look pretty bad last week in 4 innings, albeit not much was on the line there for Milwaukee and everything was for the Mets
