Edit: I'm an idiot and I'm leaving this here to acknowledge that Langway already posted a link to this, and his mention of it being D heavy was from the same source I listed. Dum dee dum dum.

Pronman recently did a 'way too early' mock, with teams listed by their Vegas odds. He says this is really just a player ranking with no regard to actual team fits.

He also acknowledged that this draft will be heavy on defense. "Five defensemen are included in my initial top 10 projected players."

His #11 player corresponding to the Caps placements in the Vegas odds is Igor Chernyshov, RW from Dynamo in the MHL.

Top 5 are:
Celebrini
Eiserman
Demidov
Sam Dickinson, LHD, London OHL
Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, RW, Norway

I think we achieved a very good restock with this recent draft. I'd actually be happier with having many of our current prospects turning out better than many are expecting. Which would mean a quicker return to serious convention.

I'd be very happy if we start over achieving next year, and we end up with say the 18th pick (and we make another shrewd pick on a faller who turns out great).

Then maybe the Red Tank can have an early retirement to nice quaint park somewhere in the the DC area!

3 Centers in the 10-14 range (the only ones outside Cele) a couple more to round out the top 20. Would be nice to get another legit Center prospect with size and skill that can skate. Wing and D heavy draft year.

Looks like NHLN will be carrying TSN's coverage of the Hlinka Gretzky tournament that starts on the 31st. No Celebrini, Eiserman or Demidov but Canada always sends a strong group to kick off the draft year. Top '25 prospect Michael Misa will suit up for them.

Few to look out for (2024 draft):

12 - Berkly Catton
7 - Maxim Massé
9 - Justin Poirier

2 - Sam Dickinson
6 - Charlie Elick
11 - Henry Mews

19 - Zayne Parekh as well. Historically productive 16 yo season in terms of goal-scoring for a D. Not likely to fly under the radar in Saginaw, though, playing with Misa and hosting the Memorial Cup. Could be a very strong option to take over for Carlson on PP1 one day.
14 - Ryder Ritchie won WHL rookie of the year last year. Another right shot wing so not a tremendous need but a strong first round possibility.

I'm thinking they pick somewhere in the 11-18 range probably so very early on I like Parekh, Mews and Hutson most beyond the typical top ten chunk. All smaller skilled defensemen but potentially impact types offensively.

Connelly presumably not listed due to the off-ice stuff. Not quite as high on Mews, Masse or Howe early on. Hutson, Brandsegg-Nygard, Parekh, Buium and Jiricek early on are players I gravitate more to as value/upside plays. All skilled D with the exception of Brandsegg-Nygard and it seems like that's where this draft excels early on. Hage is another intriguing mid-first forward depending on how his year goes.

Having caught a few of the Czech Hlinka game Jiricek jumped out with his puck handling in the offensive zone. Had a couple of moves that jumped out as special that I even rewound. Nothing that ended up in the net but not something I regularly see from dmen.

Definitely looking like more a D type draft so I'll gravitate to RHD'ers first.

Ivan Demidov has apparently surpassed Michkov already in the SKA line-up. Played both of their games while Michkov was healthy-scratched.
