It seems like a rite of passage for Habs administrations to make at least one monumental f***up in the trade department. First, Roy for whomever/who-cares and a bag of pucks with the Avalanche logo, then McDonagh for Gomez (plus a guy named Michael Busto - how Gainey missed that warning sign I still don't know), and then Sergachev for Drouin, because, well, BargainBin things. Some traditions better remain in the past - looking at you, HuGoStill have McDo too. God what an awful trade. Even if McDonagh’s stock was low at the time why in sweet f*** would we have to add anything for acquiring the worst contract in the league (can’t remember if his or Drury’s was worse).
