Read something yesterday by - I think - Mike McIntyre chatting with Ehlers. Nothing I read told me he’s thinking of signing here. I hope I’m wrong on that.
I'd imagine the deals aren't officially finalized on tdl day.It clearly states though that roster limit restrictions are removed after midnight on the day of, so as @Mortimer Snerd said maybe there is some 24hr thing on TDL day or something because many teams have made trades on that day with full rosters and not waived anyone (unless I am just completely mistaken)
Horvat has a NTC so he decides when and where he gets dealt.I wonder if Lou signs Nelson and then puts Horvat on the market. Lou wasn’t happy signing Horvat to his deal saying it was too much, and in Lou’s defense it is a million or so too much for his production.
Horvat could be a perfect addition by Jets for 2C if he comes available. He has trade protection so there’s that.
I'm not so sure about him. He looks okay superficially, but his on-ice shot metrics are really bad. Hard to assess these on awful teams, though.I will say I liked Gazdec's suggestion of getting Farraro for the bottom pairing.

I'd be much more enthusiastic about Walman. He'd be expensive, but he's really good. He'd fill in on the top pairs of needed due to injuries.
TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston and Jonas Siegel believe price tag on Brayden Schenn could be a package of a first-round pick, a top prospect, and perhaps another small add as well.
At that price…no thank you
It's not nuts. You may think this is nuts but what if Chevy had a meeting with our players and asked them if they want any help at the deadline ? I just don't know about screwing with this chemistry we have had all season. Sign Ehlers and Pionk and go to war with the ones that got us here mentality.
I still say we need a 2C…but I guess we’ll see.You may think this is nuts but what if Chevy had a meeting with our players and asked them if they want any help at the deadline ? Yes, we can look at last year. He was an AHL All Star at 20 years old. And it depends on what you want to define as "top prospect". I don't remember anyone saying he's an A prospect, some blue chip that can't miss. But yes, after he was an AHL All Star last year at 20 years old, putting up .86 PPG, and 2nd overall for points in the AHL for rookies, people now pointing to this season only when the Moose are terrible is short sighted.Fine. Look at his stats last year too. Not bad - but not top prospect worthy. But, you say Moose were bad last year too. Okay, keep going back. His D+1 in the Dub was pretty good, but not outstanding. Then there were several years before that in Finland that were very poor. We have excuses for that too.
If he is so good, when does he start achieving in spite of the less than ideal circumstances?
This is his D+3 season. If he is going to make it in the top 6 he should be killing it this year in the A. Players who do make top 6 in the NHL succeed in the A even on bad teams.
Still baffling how detroit let walman go
Anything that Gazdic says on TV - do the opposite. His trade takes for the Jets have not been constructive and Ferraro is no exception.I will say I liked Gazdec's suggestion of getting Farraro for the bottom pairing.
I actually think it would serve him well centering the 4 th line. Learn the right way to play the game defensively and learn how to be physical in the nhl with his frame.Yes, we can look at last year. He was an AHL All Star at 20 years old. As for his junior years, he had a 1.46 PPG in the DUB in his D+1. Yager was 1.66 in his D+1 on a stacked Moose Jaw team, and is currently 1.61 PPG overall this year (including Moose Jaw and Lethbridge). And I see some trying to pencil him in as the Jets 2C next year.
I am interested to know the list of 21 year old players who kill it on teams with next to no offensive talent, where (at this point in the season) their team has scored a total of 110 goals, which is dead last in the AHL, and second last is 129.
To be clear, my position is not that Lambert is some elite can't miss prospect. What I said, is that to only use this season as an evaluation for him is pretty short sighted, as it seems like some are willing to punt him based on this most recent season.
Really? I’d love Mario on the bottom LD position for the playoffs!Anything that Gazdic says on TV - do the opposite. His trade takes for the Jets have not been constructive and Ferraro is no exception.
If a deal for a player isn't sent to the head office by 3:00 CT, that player is not allowed to play in that season's playoffs.I'd imagine the deals aren't officially finalized on tdl day.

100% agree. His ideas are as upside down as he was the time Buff nearly knocked him into a parallel dimension.Anything that Gazdic says on TV - do the opposite. His trade takes for the Jets have not been constructive and Ferraro is no exception.

The deal can be sent to head office, that doesn't mean its immediately approved. If a deal for a player isn't sent to the head office by 3:00 CT, that player is not allowed to play in that season's playoffs.
I am pretty sure they have to be compliant at the TDL.
