This si the game that broke the franchise last year

Time to see if they've learned anything
Last year they peaked early then crumbled. Theres really not much that can go wrong right now as they havent been all that great consistently.
They played well vs Minnesota last game and things are looking up but still havent hit their stride as a team yet.

Not really. Surprisingly last year, they went .500 the rest of the month. It was January that killed us.

LOL of course you pigeonhole that
The Kings were never the same after the meltdown against the Islanders. Going in they were undefeated on the road. That loss completely deflated that team and they were never the same. They were better after the koala was fired but still didn't have that same swagger.

But let's look at post Islanders under the microscope

Those four wins in December were against three bad non playoff teams.

It should be quite obvious to anyone actually paying attention and actually watching the games that the Islander game was the watershed event. I can still remember the exact moment . They were winning the game 2-0 before Lee threw a cheapshot with no retaliation and then Lee scored twice and the Kings lost in OT
.
Just because the slide got worse doesn't mean it didn't start there

I wouldn’t necessarily categorize a 3-2 OTL as a ‘meltdown’ game.

The kings writer on the athletic seems convinced.
Im not sure this is a good thing BUT
I thunk we win tonite and against a ranger team in free fall (lost to chicago last game in regulation and is a total mess). We lose to the nj devils.

Islanders tho. It's the other team from NY.

Think Barzal is still out so no excuses tonight. Need to get the win.

Theyve looked poor vs the Rangers in New York the last couple years. Too much partying in the city the night before

And there was someone in the comments saying they wish the Penguins had followed the “Kings model” lmao. Rob is going to ride this little hot streak all the way to a 3 year extension isn’t he? He can’t keep getting away with this!

Interesting game tonight. Kings are the betting favorite. Feels like the squad can put up a blowout that puts the Isles into a panic.

This game is important. We all know what the back breaking loss to the Isles did to the Kings last year. The Kings were before that on a roll and slipped heavily but we’re getting points here and there. Then the game against the Isles destroyed them. Let’s see.

Kings went 4-15 after the lost to the Isles last season. Can this be the beginning of the fall for Bluc and Hiller? Stay tuned.

You want to see Helenius get a match penalty for dragging his nutz across Anders Lee’s chin. Should be enough to propel the team to a win even with an 10-7 mix.

Then a trip then a too many men
Kings will get the first ticky rack call for sure st this rate

Yep there it is

And yep Burroughs continues to do nothing but hurt the team
