From JBB's press conference at media day today:

"Mikey Eyssimont is not taking part in camp. He is dealing with a lower body injury. I don't expect him to be a camp participant at all. We expect him to get back to practicing on a regular basis around the end of training camp and I expect him to be hopefully in the lineup mid-October."
"Luke Glendening is also injured. He's a participant, but he's probably a red jersey participant. A non contact participant. We're hopeful he'll be ready for the season opener. If he isn't, it'll be a question of days probably at that point before he's ready to play NHL games."
"Jack Finley had an injury at the end of last season, before the end of Syracuse's season. He is not expected back until December."
"Gabriel Dumont had a surgery during the course of last season. He is not expected back until December."
"Daniel Walcott had an off season surgery after the playoff run for Syracuse. He is expected back around December 1st plus/minus a week."
"Gabriel Fortier also had an off season surgery. He is also expected back around December 1st plus/minus a week."

I'm guessing Ylonen will have the inside track for Eyssimont's spot, though I'd like to see Groshev get a chance there. Geekie is supposed to be responsible defensively, maybe he gets the 4th line center duties if Glendenning isn't ready to go?

"Glendening in red no-contract jersey"

Swayman should be wearing that one :D

Always fun when a no name scrub goes head hunting. That could very easily be another concussion for a guy that's had too many already. At this point you start to get worried about his health after he's finished playing.

Feels like other teams target him cause they know he's such a warrior for us. Shouldn't be happening as often as it does. At some point he's gotta think about his own health.

I was surprised that JBB didn’t attempt to sign someone after getting rid of Jeannot and Watson.
I’d like to see him go after Olivier in the offseason if he doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

Tough guys are a dime a dozen. Right now the most important thing happening with the team is last night's realization that the PK improved as soon as we took off Glendening and Girgensons.

If we need to whoop a few asses we will find someone who can do it. We can trade a 7th for Maroon if it comes down to it

If the worst thing that happens is you pay a small fine and miss at most 1 game don't need an enforcer. Just start head shotting the other team's stars I guess.

Cernak has been getting hit in the head his entire career regardless of whether we've had guys capable of fighting or not. Not even Xi Jingping's bodyguards will prevent him from being hurt.

I agree and the most sad part is watching a player trying to stand up and see Cirelli doing nothing, never drop his gloves. Can't believe the p***yfication of our 4th line and even worse read some people against enforcers but I have to deal with it, new generations helps destroying the passion and heart of this sport.
Olivier should be great, but are plenty of guys who can do the job and for a cheap deal, I love to have for example Gemel Smith, a lot of that kind of players in the AHL who can play a limited role and can fight.

There is not a person in the world who is not concussed on that hit. Watch the replay, he makes contact with the boards primarily with his head and the glass is bouncing for 3 sections. Fan sections, not glass sections. It was an incredibly dirty hit and if it happened to McDavid or Mckinnon or similar the league would be having a tantrum.

No need to rush him back, this is a good chance to test some other line combos. Mcdonagh with Moser would be interesting.
