Interesting. Seravalli predicting a 50 point year for Ritchie.

I’m not even sure he’ll make the squad. Would love for him to be right, but he’s super bullish on Ritchie.

I don't know about that one, Seravalli. We're hoping Mitts hits 60 but somehow Ritchie is going to hit 50.

I'd be happy if Ritchie made the team full time and didn't look out of place in the NHL.

He's crazy... It would a take a lot of variables to align perfectly for this to happen... There are 7 top6 forwards ahead of him as a starting point. He won't score 50 points on the 3rd line, so he would have to make the team, start in the top 6 and stay there all year. Very unlikely... Wouldn't be a good sign if it happens, as it would mean things didn't go well with Landy and Nuke...

No news there. I think everyone will be happy with an AAV below MacKinnon's.

Or the same. I don't think Nate would care one bit either. He just wants to win.

I don't think his ego is affected at all with something like that for someone he thinks so highly of, like Mikko. He's always hyping him up, and gave him lots of props for carrying the team a few years back.

Mikko's deal will kick in a couple years after MacKinnon's did too, with a likely much higher cap, so it makes sense on that level too, even if Nate is the better player. Nate's contract was just absurdly fair right out the gate in year 1. Which is unusual for star UFA's.

If Nate can continue playing at a similar level into his early 30's, which I think he can with his athleticism, and how well he takes care of his body, and his diet, his contract is going to be a steal again very soon.
