I don't really get the appeal of McTavish to be honest.
Big center, lots of skill, I haven't really seen him enough to gauge his skating ability but I'm told it isn't a strength of his. Regardless, he managed to cross 40 points his first two years in the league on an absolutely atrocious Anaheim team, but he's been dealing with some pretty persistent injury issues of late. I don't know if the elite playmaker they wanted with the third overall pick is still there but he should still be good at the very least. It's just so hard to tell with the Ducks, they just don't seem to want anyone with skill to succeed unless they play like Getzlaf and Perry did back in the day.

The issue here is that you keep looking at Jones as a #1. We are all looking at him as a #3 behind Cale. Huge difference. He would fit our system very well AND would be a big insurance in case Cale gets hurt. He also pushes Manson down to 3RD. He is also a lot more healthy than Manson. For those reasons alone Jones at 7M is a no-brainer. And one last point.....Dallas wouldn't get him. Overpay if you have to.
Obviously we don’t need a #1. I did say I’d take Jones at 7 or 7.5 mill, but not at 9.5. I’m just wondering if he’s really that good now days, because I don’t follow the Hawks much so I haven’t been watching him

Utah would be fun one stop shopping, definitely like the idea of Bjugstad as a rental to put some heft on the 4th line. the guy I really like but it seems like is having a subpar season is Maccelli, he always looks to me like a player who’d fit in well here. And if he’s on the outs there, cheaper to get as a piece in a trade.

He'd just be another dude who won't shoot the puck ever. He's a talented guy for sure, but another pure playmaker we need not.

Zero chance, Crosby is not going anywhere.
Never say never. When they asked Sid about possibility of being traded, his answer was a casual “I feel comfortable where I am” which is not a definite NO, I’m not going anywhere. There is a chance he decides to be moved since the Pens look to be headed to a full rebuild

I don't know if there was any truth to those Dobson rumours a few weeks back but I'd take him over any of these other D, including Jones.

Toews-Makar
Girard-Dobson

Get it done.

I disagree. Dobson would be severely under-utilized here.
He’s not getting prime minutes nor top PP.

He would use up more assets and be a worse fit IMO.
