Prospect Info: 2024-2025 Rangers Prospects Thread (Prospect Stats and Info in Post #1; Updated 3.31.25)

4 and a half minutes left in the 3rd and BC and Bentley tied at 1-1. BC has a lot more shots but could be that Gabriel and Drew will be signing a little sooner than we think.
 
Leonard has a lot of tools that are gonna play early in his career but I'm not scared he's gonna be a top 20 player or anything.
 
I thought Gabe had one of his best games in a while. BC as whole just isn't impressing me, though. Can easily see them going out this weekend if they have to play Denver, which it looks like they will.

I've had that vibe with them all year too. They ended up ranking No. 1 but Smith leaving early took some of the zip out of that line that Hagens never really completely replaced. They're all great players though.

The thing with Leonard is he's going to need a good playmaker on his line. Stuff he gets away with solo in college he won't get away with in the AHL/NHL. I think the Caps will give him good players to work with though. Perreault was great for him though. Gabriel's the kind of player that accentuates other players strengths. The other thing that Crypto brings up---pretty much Leonard is not going to get away with bulling his way around the rink. There's a bit of TJ Oshie (to use a Caps comparable) in his game but Oshie gets heavier and stronger as he moves toward his peak years but as he gets older the injuries start to really pile up. Leonard will need to get a bit heavier and stronger as he moves towards his peak years too. But also that kind of game comes with taking a lot of abuse. So I'm thinking Leonard will have to do some adapting....and I expect that he will. He should be a very good player.

Perreault needs to continue to work on things too--conditioning, strength and skating. His hockey IQ is top level though and he has the hands and reaction time and the timing in his game that should help him adapt pretty well.

No news on Lamb but three Minnesota players, Matthew Wood with Nashville, and Sam Rinzel and Oliver Moore with Chicago, have signed NHL contracts. Maybe the signing is yet to come or maybe the Rangers think Lamb would be better served with another year at Minnesota where he will get more playing time.

Snuggerud signed with St. Louis also. There might not be much talent left to play with, but he should get significant ice time if he does go back.

IDK if it's due to injury or ineffectiveness but Väisänen hasn't played the first two playoff games for Ilves.

He had an excellent first half and then went close to two months without scoring a goal or even an assist. It wouldn't surprise me that the Rangers want him to spend another year at Minnesota without all the top guys who have gone on to the pros.

It wouldn't surprise me if he signs or if he goes back. If he does go back one would think that he'll be getting top minutes next year.

It makes sense to have him stay as you’ve all mentioned. Hartford is stacked with young NYR prospects at wing, and Lamb is an offensive player at the NHL level if he pans out, though he’s probably a “D-“ likelihood according to the old HF system

Hartford is going to be packed (pun intended) next year with young forwards who need minutes. Roobreck, Chmelar, Laba, Sykora, BMB, maybe Perrault, maybe Berard, maybe Othmann. At some point, him going back to school for a year wouldn’t be the worst thing for him as compared to going to Hartford and playing on the 4th line likely.

Hopefully Gabe's Dad(Yannic) is councelling him to not turn Pro just yet especially what's happened to older brother Jacob...1 more year will do him a World of Good and by then maybe the Rangers figure what's next...Vets or Youngsters

Gabe is signing today or tomorrow. Glad his Dad gave him a good advice.

P.S. World of Good - is it an amusement park or a specialty store?
