Prospect Info: 2024-2025 Rangers Prospects Thread (Prospect Stats and Info in Post #1; Updated 3.21.25)

We were optimistic he'd sign after last season and that he didn't was a bit of a surprise. The expectation is that he'll sign now, but you never know.

Makes sense. He was better last year and battled a lot of injuries this season. Would love to have him dominate a senior season but know he’s likely going to turn pro if they come offering a contract.

While he was injured this year he still had the capacity to take over games and was a beast in the faceoff circle. I hope his game translates well to the pro side for you guys.

Maine plays Northeastern tonight in a Hockey East playoff game. If Northeastern loses the team's season is over. Jackson Dorrington will be 21 in early April and will have completed three seasons at Northeastern. We'll know soon after Northeastern loses, whether tonight or later on in the tournament, whether the Rangers sign him.

Maine beats Northeastern in double overtime to end Northeastern’s season. Jackson Dorrington was very impressive in the two periods I watched. Big, physical, blocked several shots, skates well, played under control. He showed a booming shot from the point. Didn’t carry the puck much but was able to make a good first pass. Maybe he wants to go back to school for his last year but I think the Rangers try to sign him. We’ll know in the next few days.

By all accounts he had a good season. The Rangers will need some depth in Hartford next year. Harpur, Ruhwedel, and likely Robertson are gone. I don't know their contract status but I'd guess they don't want to depend on Siedem and McCarthy. The defense has been dreadful this season so I assume they'll want to infuse it with some new blood.

Fortescue seems like the other realistic option but I don't know if they want to wait another year on him.
