Do the Bruins really need to spend more valuable cap dollars (Olivier won't come cheap) on guys whose main contribution is throwing punches?

I like Olivier but they are already spending 5 million per year to employ the league's toughest D-man. Who is he fighting? 10 fights this year and 3 are against current Bruins. Reaves will be out of the league next year, I'm not paying Olivier what he'll get in free agency just to fight Arber Jackass and Matt Rempe. He may go down as the last true heavyweight forward this league sees, good for him.

This deal will go down in history. Two contending teams swapping their respective scoring leaders (goals in the case of Rantanen and the Avs) in the middle of a season… and a third team involved.

Blockbuster in every sense of the word. I'm kinda stunned since i thought for sure the Avs would find a way to make it work.

Rantanen has to be the most underrated player in the league. Legit power forward with silky smooth hands. Easy 35-40 goal guy that will likely continue to produce alongside a top flight playmaker like Aho. The Avs aren't exactly getting nothing here, but that's still crazy they said screw it, you're gone.

Bonkers. I have to imagine we get an announcement on an extension for him in fairly short order as well.
