2024-2025 Injury Thread - Greenway (undisclosed), Norris (undisclosed), Kulich (concussed), Lafferty (groin)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Well, that didn't last long on Norris
Dealing with a issue he had and being evaluated by Sabres per Ruff

At least Cozens hasn’t looked good as Ottawa has caught fire and pretty much taken the playoff spot that was supposed to be ours oh wait. f***.

And Kulich got absolutely smoked, one of the harder hits of the past 5 years. Hope he takes his time and comes back 100%.

RE: Kulich. I saw the hit; I'm aware there was no penalty. I had the VGK feed (meh*) who definitively declared it to be a good clean legal hit despite the head contact. Was there any (supplemental) follow-up from the NHL? Was it felt the chest was the principle point of contact and the shoulder to the head was "along for the ride"?

*Repeatedly referred to the team as "VGK" using the letters, vs. Knights, Golden Knights, etc. Also repeatedly reminded all who would listen how abysmal the Sabres have been. This season, preceding seasons, the last time the Sabres won a playoff series, etc., It's as if the Sabres were the Washington Generals of Globetrotter futility.

Gah... can't believe Greenway is injured again. I hope its not anything that will keep him out of he lineup, or at least, not for long.

Norris injury still looming

Josh Norris still hasn’t played or skated with the team since March 12, when the Sabres lost 7-3 to the Red Wings.

The only update Ruff gave on the injury during the trip was that he was “progressing, but slowly.” Ruff described the injury as mid-body and said it was something Norris had been dealing with, not something new that happened during that game.

The Sabres have just 13 games left and are way out of the playoff picture, so they’re getting to the point where they’ll have to weigh the benefit of playing Norris vs. shutting him down and giving him time to fully recover from whatever he’s dealing with. Of course, the Senators, Norris’ former team, visit Tuesday. And there’s also a return trip to Ottawa on the schedule. Norris might have some added motivation to play in those games.

He blocked a shot, would you rather he not try ?

He plays a physical game on a team that generally does not. His previous inquiry was a sport hernia. Those are not fun
