Isles are putting Wahlstrom on waivers, wouldnt hate putting a claim on him. still young at 24 years old, bigger body as well and he shoots righty. granted he hasnt had much success the last few years but at 1m for this year and then an RFA, wouldnt hurt to have some bottom 6 help

He shoots right but can't hit the net if his life depended on it.

Fire Cooper brigade has been MIA for a bit. Must be too busy having ulcers seeing a change of direction with him, instead of spite of him.

Imagine watching 50 games last year. And in like 45 of of them we see 13 shots in the 1st period. We score twice. 3 shots in the 2nd period. 2 or 3 shots halfway through the 3rd until we inevitably blow our lead or fell behind after being blasted by 30+ shots by the opposition and every shift is a fire drill in our own end. Now suddenly we can rattle off 11 shots on goal in 4 minutes. If we won it was Kucherov bullshit legging out 2 more goals in short order. If we lost, chances are we gave up 3 or 4 goals that night. Another year of that shit I was going to Amalie with "Fire everyone" signs. Of all the shit this great sport has offer, that kind of strategy is the worst. It was a f***ing "President Madagascar" meme come to life

Yes we still blow a ton of leads using the same structure but the forwards are being more aggressive this year and it is alleviating the fire drills in our end. Not to say we don't get hammered in some games, but there is already substantially less of it. More often than not we have many Grade A chances while trying to defend and they just don't go in. And we fall victim of "the other team is trying to win too"

Last year we were lucky if we got a shot on goal every 8 minutes and wondered how we could have gone down 3-2 on a 32-15 shot disparity 4 minutes into the 3rd. Thank God we moved on from that crap

I'll own it. I still need to see better than a first round exit though. Never mistake EFFORT for RESULTS.

In 2023, we lost in the first round because Vasi completely and utterly shit the bed in the first four games of that series. By the time he finally wiped his ass, it was too late.

Last year, we lost to the eventual champions who had clearly been the better team all season long.

Neither was an "effort" issue.

Absolutely brutal stretch coming up, whoever made this years schedule absolutely had it in for the Lightning

14 games in 23 days
10/14 games on the road

Having said that, most of those teams suck so who knows. January is going to be the month that makes or breaks this team.

4 b2b's in there unfortunately, so likely best case they go 2-2 with JJ in net, but 1-3 wouldn't be a surprise.
