Imagine the carnage trying this move in the 90's. Scott Stevens watching this play develop be like...

Yeah I definitely don’t regret that trade other than the fact they got an 11th overall out of it and wasted it on a defenseman who played 20 career NHL games.

Siemens first and only NHL goal was a great moment though. Plugged up bloody nose from a fight, and hits the empty net from his own zone, when that wasn't so common to try.

Team was so pumped for him because they new he was a journeyman that was probably on his last shot at the NHL. Great example of sports camaraderie.

I’ve been told it’s spelled “Pokecheck”

At some point, you have to think the Hockey Gods will have sympathy for that fan base.
Few fanbases have been that loyal, and even fewer have been hosed over worse by a successive string of shitty owners.

Rigas bankrupted the franchise to support his lavish lifestyle, Golisano introduced the Buffaslug and instituted an idiotic policy that cost them their two best centers at the time, and Pegula has been horribly haphazard and meddlesome--about the only thing he's done right is get the uniforms back to where they belong.

Friedman kinda went over it on a recent pod and just went down the exhaustive list of star players who left Buffalo have done since they exited. O'Reilly, Eichel, Montour, Reinhart, and so on, it's a whole lot of Cups and other hardware/accolades. Why is the culture just so insanely broken in upstate New York!? Seems to me the problem starts at the top, and the only way around that is to either hope he sells to someone who doesn't suck, or a Zito-like personality takes over and puts the owner in his place.

Adams does deserve some credit though--Botterill got shitcanned because he refused to lay off his employees, Adams did so but then convinced Pegula to slowly bring them back, so he gets props for managing up...it was managing down where he appears to have gotten in trouble.

Man Zegras has had a rough last couple of seasons.
God that sucks. Dude's a stellar talent but he ain't gettin' any luck with injuries of late.

Looked like such a nothing play.

That’s almost exactly how I tore my meniscus the 2nd time. Basically took a weird step running around playing kick ball and a complete tear.

6 weeks for a torn meniscus doesn't seem like a lot of time. Obviously good news for him, all things considered.
They’re just going in and cleaning up the tear. Would be curious if a repair is in the cards anytime soon though, that’s a way longer recovery. So not sure he’d want to do that over the summer or just push that back as far as he can.

Lane Hutson is special.

He skates really well.

Definitely needs to make better decisions regarding puck management. Needs to understand not every shift is an opportunity to pinch and get in deep. Has to understand the clock a bit better, he’s been guilty of bombing passes for giveaways late in periods when there isn’t even enough time to go down and score. Just swallow the puck.

Fantastic skater and the head fakes/moves at the blueline are crazy. Lots of confidence in his game.
