Best open ice hit I've seen in a while

When he commits to hitting a guy he doesn't miss, I'll give him that

Having said that I'd like to see his offensive game develop like it did in the back half of last season, his offensive trajectory was looking promising when we drafted him

At the moment he's looking like a statistical outlier if he makes it and those aren't great bets

I hope he makes the transition to the NHL. That's how you intimidate the other team. If they know they can get smoked crossing the blue line...

We all would like to see that and I know he helps a player make it to the show, but his skating and brain are damn good and if they get better, why can't he be a full time shutdown defenseman? I mean if he is, that saves us money too :dunno:

You would hope that some defensemen are drafted for defending, not being a rover in junior.

Off the top of my head, Jake Middleton and Josh Manson are both rule breakers that never really produced at lower levels

They weren't drafted in the first round. And they're the exception to the rule, not the rule. So it leaves a bit of room for hope, but not much.

Good shut down guys can move the puck efficiently, getting the puck out of your zone to one of your guys helps the old G/A

The last couple highlight hits from him he seems to come in really low on them, I haven’t seen too many guys his size go in for hits crouched over and exploding up like that. On one hand that should avoid headshot penalties but on the other I have a bad feeling it gets him blown up if he tries that against a 220 pound NHL sized forward.
